We've been loyal JCP customers for 40 years, but this month they started charging us $1.99 just to get a paper bill in the mail. I prefer handling things offline and don't feel comfortable putting everything on the internet. It seems like JCP doesn't value long-time customers like us anymore. This was the final straw for us and we won't be coming back.

We made the hour-long drive to the JCPenny in Evansville, Indiana on a Friday and it was totally worth it. We needed to get our nephew a suit for prom. Even though the regular associate wasn't working that day, we got fantastic help from another staff member who was incredibly kind and knowledgeable. She really made our visit special and the drive was absolutely worthwhile.

I called customer service to request information about February's payment and to close my account due to identity theft concerns. The representative wouldn't even tell me her name, and there was a clear language barrier during the call. She said I'd get a letter about the account closure but never provided her name when I asked.

The beauty section at JCPenny really disappoints me. The people working in that department don't seem to have any real cosmetics or skincare knowledge. They come across like pushy salespeople instead of experts. The young staff there don't even seem to take care of their own skin and hair, which makes me question their recommendations. The actual products are outdated and many are damaged on the shelves. Since Sephora left, the beauty section has gone downhill fast. I won't be buying anything from there.

This company destroyed my credit score and I can't recommend staying away from them enough. I called customer service multiple times but had trouble getting the help I needed due to communication issues. Even when I explained that the $400 monthly charge was hard for me to manage, nobody offered me any alternative payment options. Avoid this company if you can.

Advertised sale prices vanish at the register. Entering coupon codes somehow causes the regular price to increase, making things more expensive. I've had this happen in stores as well. Once I purchased a marked-down sweet treat with no listed price and saw on the receipt I was charged $25, with the original price supposedly being $75. It's fraudulent and I'm done.

The items they carry are passable quality with fair pricing, but I ran into serious problems with both their website shopping and their phone-based customer service.

Their product selection is acceptable and pricing is fairly reasonable, but I had a really bad experience trying to shop online and when I called their customer service line.

The merchandise here is decent enough and the prices aren't bad, but my experience with their online ordering and phone support was pretty disappointing overall.

Everything about this company has been terrible from start to finish. Shipments consistently arrive late, customer service is unresponsive, and the quality of packaging is awful. I ordered $500 worth of shoes and they arrived completely squashed. Another $437 order that was supposed to come by a certain date still hasn't shown up days later. Their whole operation is careless and I'm finished spending my money here.

Don't shop at JC Penney unless you want to get ripped off. The warehouse staff are crooks and liars. My experience ordering from them was absolutely the worst I've had anywhere. I ordered kids clothing for over $300 and most of the items weren't in the package even though the invoice said they were. The weight listed was false too. I was charged for 35 items that never arrived! JCPenny will scam you and that's why they're struggling financially. The customer service reps are useless and won't actually solve problems. Stay away.

I have to give a huge shout out to the customer service representative working at the west side mall location. This guy is hands down the friendliest and most efficient person I've ever dealt with in customer service. He's always pleasant and clearly cares about helping customers. JCPenny is lucky to have him on their team!
