The gears weren't meshing properly, and without that working, there's no way to adjust the stage or focus. I sent emails and tried calling multiple times. Out of all my attempts to reach someone, I only got through once. The person was really nice and promised to send a replacement unit right away, but she said I needed to send a video showing the stage problem. I sent the video, then heard nothing back. I haven't been able to get a real person on the phone since. Don't buy from them.
Their customer service is useless and they never respond to emails. I placed an order for 6 microscopes and without any warning, FedEx sent my order back to the warehouse after 5 days. I only found out because I checked with FedEx myself. This mistake cost me money and added over 9 more days to my wait. AmScope never apologized or explained what went wrong. This company is terrible and I hope these bad reviews hurt their reputation the way they hurt mine.
When I tried to order an accessory for my microscope, my card kept getting declined and the transaction appeared to fail both times. Then I checked my banking app and realized my account got charged twice. I feel like I've been ripped off, and based on what I've read in other reviews, AmScope won't do anything to help me resolve this.
This company has the worst customer service I've ever experienced. I can't get anyone to pick up the phone, they don't return voicemails, and they ignore emails and messages through their website. I bought a $400 microscope that came missing a part, and I've sent multiple emails about it with zero response.
I ordered the microscope directly from them and had it shipped to my company address in an office building. They used FedEx for delivery. When I didn't receive it, I reached out and they told me to contact FedEx, who said it was delivered but signed for by someone other than me. AmScope refused to refund me and kept saying the package was delivered, ignoring my point that they should have required my signature or worked it out with FedEx directly. I had to use my credit card's fraud protection to get my money back. A month later the box turned up outside our office - obviously FedEx delivered to the wrong spot and our neighbor sent it over. Throughout this whole mess, AmScope acted arrogant and dismissive. They knew what happened but wouldn't do anything. By the way, there are tons of microscopes out there with displays that work way better and cost less than half the price. AmScope should be out of business soon because they don't deserve to be around. They definitely don't deserve your money.
I can't really review a product I never got in the first place. I asked for my money back but haven't heard anything. I've emailed both AmScope and UPS with no response from either. At this point I'm not sure I'll ever get my refund, and I definitely won't be ordering from this company again.
Don't buy from this brand. The equipment breaks constantly, there's basically no real customer support, they delay shipments whenever they feel like it, and you can't find any legitimate manufacturing information on their products. The quality is extremely poor and the whole operation seems shady.
I spent hours trying to get the camera software running. Eventually it worked, but only on Windows 7. The microscope camera ran fine with that system but wouldn't cooperate with Windows 8, 10, or 11. When I contacted AmScope, they just told me to try other software instead. I tried everything they suggested and nothing worked. Even Dell technical support couldn't help. The hardware and software were apparently designed to work with only one Windows version. I'm really frustrated about throwing away a $144 camera just because AmScope never updated their drivers and software. Their response was basically 'it's an old model,' but my response is that I'll never buy anything from this company again. Their whole philosophy seems to be 'buy new stuff when yours stops working,' and I doubt that's changed for their current lineup.
The service from this company is just terrible all around. I was trying to buy a microscope and they kept flooding my inbox with a promo code 'FALL15' for 15% off if I ordered by a certain date. It was plastered all over their website too. So I tried using the code and it said invalid. I called their customer service team and they told me to email them a screenshot and they'd fix it. Days went by with nothing. Meanwhile, the coupon ad disappeared from the website. I emailed again and they said just go ahead and purchase and we'll sort it out afterward. Yeah right, I'm not spending $1200 hoping they figure it out after I pay. I can't reach anyone on the phone anymore and they're not responding to emails. This company is a joke. Find a different brand and buy from someone who actually cares.
