What Shoppers Say About Annie Selke
Annie Selke is rated 1.2 out of 5 by 17 shoppers, with the vast majority of reviews expressing serious dissatisfaction. Shoppers report multiple recurring problems: excessive return fees that exceed item prices, unclear product descriptions (particularly regarding what is or isn't included in sets), extended custom-order lead times without flexible scheduling options, unresponsive customer service, and difficulty obtaining replacements or refunds when orders arrive incorrectly or go missing. Several reviewers describe the operation as chaotic and suggest potential ownership or management changes that may be affecting service quality.
The small number of positive reviews do not provide sufficient detail to identify consistent strengths. Given the overwhelming pattern of complaints about returns policies, product clarity, fulfillment delays, and customer service responsiveness, most shoppers do not appear to recommend this retailer. Potential customers should carefully review return policies and product specifications before purchasing and consider whether the final cost including potential return fees represents fair value.

Sorted by: Most recentI got two pillow shams and tried to return them just one day later. When I went to start the return process, I discovered an $18 service fee plus shipping costs, which ended up being more than what I paid for the items themselves. This is absolutely ridiculous and feels like a total rip-off. I'm just going to donate these to charity instead.
I grabbed an ottoman from their clearance sale and waited about a week before checking on when it would ship. That's when I learned it was 'custom made' and would take 4 to 5 weeks. Fine, I could wait. Then three weeks in I got a shipping notification with no option to delay it since I wasn't going to be home. I had to call their support team multiple times and kept getting transferred around (their reps are based overseas which makes everything harder). Eventually I spoke to someone in the US but she was hostile and unhelpful despite saying she'd fix it. Thankfully the local FedEx location was understanding and held it for me. The ottoman itself looks nice but the construction quality is disappointing. For a thousand dollar purchase it should feel sturdy and well-made, and this just doesn't. Overall it was a frustrating experience and I wouldn't recommend ordering anything from them that you can't easily return.
I placed an order for 3 rugs on 10/18 and they shipped pretty fast. Unfortunately, FedEx messed up by creating duplicate shipping labels and eventually informed me the package was lost. When I reached out to Annie Selke's customer service team (which appears to be offshore), nobody could help me get a replacement sent out, issue a refund, contact the shipping company, or even check if the package made it back to their warehouse. This was a pricey order and I was seriously considering calling my credit card company to dispute it as potential fraud. I gave them until Thursday to figure things out. Update from 10/30: Finally, someone escalated my case to an actual representative who managed to work things out with FedEx and got a replacement order processed. While FedEx definitely bears most of the blame here, the customer service experience could've been way smoother. The replacement hasn't arrived yet but I'll update once it does. Bumping this up to 3 stars for now. Update from Nov 3: All three rugs arrived in perfect condition. Everything worked out in the end, which brings me to a solid 5 stars.
I believe this company went bankrupt not long after it started up and I'm unsure who's actually handling their orders now, whether it's another rug retailer or someone else entirely. The whole operation seems chaotic. I was about to make a purchase since their site is still active, but the checkout suddenly redirected me to a different platform which seemed sketchy. After reading through all these reviews, I'm glad I decided against placing that order.
I thought I was ordering a complete towel set but it turned out to be just the bath towel. When I tried to return it I was told it's not returnable. A couple days later I saw those same towels on their site for way less money. Their website is super misleading and deceptive.
This company is going to lose a ton of customers because of their lazy and apathetic customer service approach. I bought two 10 by 14 foot area rugs over the Labor Day weekend. When one arrived it wasn't what I'd ordered at all. FedEx picked up the wrong rug on 9/8 and I sent it back. The rug I actually wanted is still listed for sale on their website but customer service keeps telling me it's out of stock. I don't have the rug I paid for and I'm still waiting on my credit card refund.
Terrible experience with customer service here. They're quick to charge you but don't bother letting you know when items aren't actually in stock. When you point this out in the chat they just make excuses and flat out lie to you. For a company that charges high shipping fees you'd think they'd want to keep customers satisfied. Stay away from this place. This company doesn't deserve your money.
I ordered an extra small tunic for $24.70 plus tax and paid $18.95 in shipping, but it arrived in extra large instead. I sent them pictures showing it was the wrong size. They said they'd email me a free return label and refund the $24.70. Then I noticed they're charging me an $18.02 handling fee and only refunding $8.42. I had to push back pretty hard and let them know I'd dispute it with my credit card company to finally get my full $24.70 back.
The ottoman they sent me had the wrong feet attached. When I called to complain I was told that what I ordered was all they have in stock and there aren't any other leg options available. I asked why nobody contacted me first to let me know so I could either cancel or accept the product, but they didn't have an answer for that. I spent $800 on something I didn't actually order. All they did was keep apologizing without any real resolution. I asked to speak with a supervisor and was told nobody was available but I'd hear from them within 24 to 48 hours. It's been over a week now with no contact. This company is completely lacking in professionalism and accountability. Don't give them your business.
