What Shoppers Say About Annie Selke
Annie Selke is rated 1.2 out of 5 by 17 shoppers, with the vast majority of reviews expressing serious dissatisfaction. Shoppers report multiple recurring problems: excessive return fees that exceed item prices, unclear product descriptions (particularly regarding what is or isn't included in sets), extended custom-order lead times without flexible scheduling options, unresponsive customer service, and difficulty obtaining replacements or refunds when orders arrive incorrectly or go missing. Several reviewers describe the operation as chaotic and suggest potential ownership or management changes that may be affecting service quality.
The small number of positive reviews do not provide sufficient detail to identify consistent strengths. Given the overwhelming pattern of complaints about returns policies, product clarity, fulfillment delays, and customer service responsiveness, most shoppers do not appear to recommend this retailer. Potential customers should carefully review return policies and product specifications before purchasing and consider whether the final cost including potential return fees represents fair value.

Sorted by: Most recentI really wish I'd found these reviews earlier. This is my second time ordering a duvet set with matching shams, getting charged, and then being told the cover is unavailable. I'm currently fighting with them and considering filing a dispute with my credit card company. Do yourself a favor and skip this place. Their customer service is completely incompetent and the website information is always wrong. They offer you a tiny discount on a future purchase but won't apply it to anything that's on sale. This is one of those rare companies that honestly deserves to shut down. In both my orders I loved how the duvet looked, but days after ordering I'd get the 'oops we're out of stock' message. There are tons of other retailers selling quality linens. Don't torture yourself trying to order from them and then spending weeks fixing their mistakes.
I bought a rug on December 29, 2024 and as of today it's been lost during shipment. They said they'd send a replacement but never did. I've already contacted my bank to dispute the charge. Now the company is telling me I'm not allowed to cancel the replacement order they created, even though there's no shipping information or tracking number available for it. Customer service keeps insisting I can't cancel it despite having zero order details. What's happened to this company? This whole experience has been absolutely terrible.
Classic bait and switch situation. I ordered a rug that had a 70 percent discount applied but the company then cancelled my order claiming they didn't have it in stock. I asked if I could get the same rug in a different color at the discounted price but they said no. They offered 15 percent off the original price instead. Their website is still showing that discounted rug available for purchase. I tried talking to customer service to work something out but they refused to let me speak to a manager. I'd strongly recommend shopping elsewhere. Looking at other complaints it's clear this is a pattern with them.
The blanket I recently bought from them is honestly one of the worst quality items I've ever purchased. You could get a better blanket with more durability at Target for a fraction of the price. The material felt thin, had a weird chemical smell, was rough on the skin, and just overall felt incredibly cheap. This company used to be known for selling good products but I wouldn't trust them anymore.
They advertised a bench on their site at an amazing sale price so I ordered it. What showed up three weeks later was a cube, not a bench at all. I contacted customer service and they said they'd send me the correct item. Seemed good. Then the next day I got multiple emails from a rude CS person telling me I obviously knew I was ordering the cube and that they're sending me a return label via FedEx so I can send it back and then eventually get my refund. No apology, no acknowledgment that their site still shows the same product at that great price. Just telling me I'm wrong and this is how it's going to work. That's not how business works. What they're doing is actually illegal. You can't advertise something and then refuse to honor that price. I pointed this out and they basically didn't care. I was really shocked at how unethical this company acted. Definitely never buying from them again.
I don't usually write negative reviews but I've had two terrible experiences with this company. First, I ordered something on sale and it never showed up. After I started asking questions, they just brushed me off saying it was sold out with zero effort to contact me about a refund or checking if they could restock it. A few weeks later the item was available again but they refused to honor the sale price I'd originally purchased it at. Second situation: I ordered a large ottoman and received completely the wrong thing. It took multiple phone calls and emails to get anywhere, and even then they took a full week just to respond. Then another week passed before they even placed a new order. It took two more weeks for them to arrange a pickup of the wrong ottoman. The entire customer service experience was unhelpful and honestly rude. I'm done with this company.
I purchased what was marketed as a premium quality Dash and Albert rug from this store. Two years later, even though it's been in my bedroom which is kept clean and dry, the backing started peeling away from the rug surface. It's in a low-traffic room and I don't wear shoes inside my house. I reached out to them about getting a replacement or some kind of compensation to fix it but they wouldn't do anything, not even send me fabric glue. For what I paid for this rug that was completely unacceptable. Their only offer was vaguely suggesting I buy some latex glue myself and then throwing in a discount code for future purchases. I told them there's no reason I'd ever shop with them again if they won't stand behind their products. I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and they've completely ignored it. Really disappointed by the whole experience.
