What Shoppers Say About annieskitclubs.com
Annie's Kit Club is rated 1.5 out of 5 by 20 shoppers, with the vast majority expressing serious dissatisfaction. Reviewers report widespread operational problems since the company's transition to Annie's Attic ownership, including incorrect charges and billing errors (customers charged full price when items were on sale, and double charges appearing on accounts), missed or significantly delayed shipments (some experiencing six-month gaps in monthly deliveries), wrong items and instructions, and non-responsive customer service that ignores repeated contact attempts. The website navigation is also criticized as confusing and difficult to use.
While one reviewer mentioned the company was improving before the ownership change, current experiences are overwhelmingly negative. Shoppers consistently blame the Annie's Attic merger and associated software migration for the dramatic decline in service quality. The most common advice from reviewers is to avoid the company entirely until operational issues are resolved.

Sorted by: Most recentI've signed up for quite a few kits and put up with a lot of problems over time. There have been wrong instructions, incorrect shipments, and delivery delays. Just now I realized I was charged 29.99 for a holiday kit that's actually on sale for 15.99, and it says the regular price is 22.99, so I have no idea why they charged 29.99. I contacted them twice through their website and never got any response.
Annie's kit club was once a great company. Since they switched over to Annie's attic, the service has gone downhill fast. They'll charge you for a kit, not send it, or send it but then ignore your emails when it doesn't arrive. Their customer service is absolutely terrible. Don't waste your time or money.
I'm really upset with what's going on at this company. I signed up right before their website migration. I got the first two shipments, then waited two months, got two back to back, and now they're telling me the next one isn't until December. That's a six month gap between shipments that are supposed to be monthly. They're blaming a yarn shortage, but somehow that didn't stop them from selling the exact same kits to other customers on their site. They sent me a video pattern for the next kit and I think I have enough yarn, but six months between monthly shipments is completely unacceptable.
Ever since the Annies Attic takeover and the new software rollout, service has been incredibly poor. My kit shipments completely stopped while I was working on a project and customer service won't respond even after I've tried contacting them several times. Stay away from this company unless you enjoy frustration and disappointment.
This site is incredibly hard to navigate. The filtering system doesn't actually work properly. Trying to shop here feels like being in complete chaos, like a flea market during a hurricane.
I'd give them less than one star if I could. Before Annies kit club merged with Annies Attic, I was actually starting to really enjoy this company. But since then, customer service has been awful. They kept double charging my account and sending wrong items. After several months they finally got things straightened out. But then I ordered a kit for 175 dollars and they sent me all white yarn. Now they're doing absolutely nothing to fix it. They asked for pictures, I sent multiple right away, and I haven't heard back since. They won't even respond to my many emails about this problem. It's really unfortunate.
I completed a full Afghan kit that was really enjoyable and turned out beautiful. The directions were easy to follow and kits showed up every two weeks like they promised. Then I started a new blanket in April with two week shipments scheduled. I got the first one, but then they switched everything over to their new Anniesattic system. It's shocking that three months later, my subscription still hasn't restarted. All I get are generic form responses. It's clear that talented people put a lot of effort into creating these kits, but whoever managed this transition did a terrible job. This particular blanket is Christmas themed, and if they'd kept the schedule, it would've been done before the holidays. Now I'm worried it won't be ready in time. I was also counting on working on these kits while I recovered from knee surgeries. I was saving them to do during my recovery period. I've only gotten one knee done so far.
Do not purchase from this company. I bought a 12 month subscription but ever since they revamped their website I only have 3 of 4 kits and just 2 of 4 lessons. My project is 2 out of 12 kits done and I cannot get through to customer service. The one time I managed to speak with someone, they basically told me to wait for updates. I can't even cancel because when I log in, it shows I have no orders. I'm planning to dispute this with my credit card company. Apparently their billing system wasn't affected by the upgrade. Go figure.
I understand website transitions take time when you work in tech. But my last order arrived back in late March, which is now over 2 and a half months ago. A heads up about the issues they were facing with a realistic timeline would have made a huge difference. Instead, all they've posted is a note on their bookshelf and Contact Us page asking for patience. When you haven't heard anything in more than 2 and a half months, even after you reach out yourself, that goes way beyond reasonable. It really doesn't help me trust that they're actually making progress or that they'll succeed as a business.
The old site was fantastic. The new platform combined with online-only customer service is just terrible. I've joined several clubs and loved them previously. I'm currently in two clubs and since the change, I've dealt with months of delays and only received 6 kits over 34 days. One kit came with the full instruction booklet printed as a single 8.5 by 11 sheet with tiny text on cheap paper. Six pages crammed onto one sheet. Unbelievable. The kits don't have as much yarn anymore and practically every single kit comes with a revision PDF. Who is checking these before they ship? They need to get their act together. I can't recommend them anymore until things improve.
