What Shoppers Say About annieskitclubs.com
Annie's Kit Club is rated 1.5 out of 5 by 20 shoppers, with the vast majority expressing serious dissatisfaction. Reviewers report widespread operational problems since the company's transition to Annie's Attic ownership, including incorrect charges and billing errors (customers charged full price when items were on sale, and double charges appearing on accounts), missed or significantly delayed shipments (some experiencing six-month gaps in monthly deliveries), wrong items and instructions, and non-responsive customer service that ignores repeated contact attempts. The website navigation is also criticized as confusing and difficult to use.
While one reviewer mentioned the company was improving before the ownership change, current experiences are overwhelmingly negative. Shoppers consistently blame the Annie's Attic merger and associated software migration for the dramatic decline in service quality. The most common advice from reviewers is to avoid the company entirely until operational issues are resolved.

Sorted by: Most recentSince their computer system changed, I've been waiting over 10 weeks for my fifth installment out of ten. I can't talk to anyone in person, only through email. They won't even tell me when my kit is going to ship again. This has been really disappointing when I should be close to finishing by now.
I signed up for the Afghan club back in January and got my first 4 kits fine. After that, I emailed multiple times and only got automated responses. Finally found a phone number, called, and got someone who was pretty dismissive and didn't want to listen. She did reactivate the subscription, but kit 5 showed up over a month late. When it arrived, there was no pattern included, just a note about them switching to digital patterns. I checked their site and found patterns for kits 1 through 4, but kit 5 is missing. I have yarn with no instructions. Since they skipped a month, I won't finish this in time for Christmas, which was the whole reason I bought it. Really let down. At least I only purchased one subscription, because I almost grabbed a couple more.
I've always liked their patterns and Afghan kits in the past. Lately, I ordered their amigurumi kits though, and they don't come with enough materials to actually finish the projects. After the platform switch, getting help has become impossible. No phone line and after I sent three requests online, I got an email that basically blamed my gauge being wrong without even asking what my measurements were. Now I've got a half finished project I paid for and can't complete. I'll keep the pattern and buy my own yarn, but I've wasted a full week's worth of work starting from scratch. The designs are nice, but their customer service is terrible and they charge more than their competitors anyway.
I was a loyal customer for years until March when they rebranded. All my kit subscriptions got suspended, leaving me with two unfinished projects and no way to complete them. I was supposed to give the finished projects as graduation gifts this month but that's not happening. Customer service is basically nonexistent and just sends generic form emails. The whole experience has been terrible and I've lost months of work and money on projects I can't even finish.
I wish I could give less than one star. Three weeks of trying to pay a bill online, getting hit with a late fee, and getting absolutely nowhere. Turns out they only want checks in the mail and don't take online payments at all. Every time I call the number on the bill, the automated system just sends me back to their website. Once I'm there, nothing happens. There's no way to actually pay. Moving to a digital-only setup without proper phone support has completely destroyed my confidence in this company. I also let them know about this review, but I'm not holding my breath for a response.
I had a great time making the first six kits for the Irish Fields Gansey afghan. But the site migration has caused huge problems. I can't even see my subscription anymore and I haven't gotten a kit in over two months. I can't resubscribe since I already have those first six kits. I'm hoping they figure things out soon or they're going to lose all their customers.
Because of the website migration, I still don't have the last kit I need to finish my crochet project. I'm far from the only person dealing with this. I sent a customer service request and got nothing back. My final kit is over two weeks overdue and they haven't given me any shipping estimate.
I joined and paid for the Irish Fields Aran Knit Afghan back in March. The first kit came pretty quickly and I had fun with the first block. It's been two months now and nothing but silence. I haven't gotten any info about when my second kit is coming. I've sent three separate emails with no replies. The kit doesn't even show up in my purchase history or digital library. The phone line is just an automated system with no way to reach an actual person. I've never felt so frustrated.
At first I really loved Annie's. I've been in three different kit clubs. Right now I'm working on two club projects, but since the platform moved, shipping has been way delayed. Over a month has gone by and I'm missing two kits from each project. Plus there's missing info in my account. Customer service is now just email forms and responses take forever, if you get one at all. I don't think I'll be ordering again. Really disappointed.
The variety of stitches in my two kit subscriptions keeps me learning. I'm working on the Irish Fields Gansey crochet afghan right now. My other subscription is the crochet Mandala Afghan. I paused the Mandala for a bit because two afghans at once was overwhelming for me. When I'm ready to pick it back up, I can restart it anytime. It's actually been 6 months since I paused it. I really like how flexible Annie's is. Having the yarn, written patterns, and video tutorials all included was a big reason I joined. Yes, it's a little pricey, but I spend that much monthly on other stuff I just consume. Overall I'm really happy with getting a new kit every four weeks.
