Blue Mountain Organics Reviews
What Shoppers Say About Blue Mountain Organics
Blue Mountain Organics has a highly polarized customer base, rated 2.3 out of 5 by 9 shoppers. A small group of customers praise specific products, particularly the walnut butter, which some describe as superior to competitors. However, the majority of reviewers report serious quality and service issues, including receiving incorrect orders, stale or degraded products, potential mold contamination on items like sprouted cashews, and unidentifiable dark particles in oats that raised food safety concerns. Shipping costs are cited as expensive, and customer service is described as difficult to reach and unhelpful when issues arise.
Recurring complaints center on product quality inconsistency, with multiple reviewers experiencing different results between orders from the same company. Concerns about proper storage, freshness, and safety standards appear frequently enough to suggest systemic problems rather than isolated incidents. While some customers return for specific items like sprouted products due to price, the overall experience is marked by frustration over shipping costs, order accuracy, and the stress of having to inspect packages carefully upon arrival.

Sorted by: Most recentMy order finally showed up. It wasn't what I ordered though. I'm standing by what I said in my earlier review.
I come here mainly for their sprouted items since they're more affordable than competitors. My problem is their customer service absolutely stinks. Throughout the years, I've dealt with stale products showing up at my door. The thing is, their shipping costs are insane, so I order in bulk twice yearly and keep everything in perfect storage to maintain freshness. When something arrives questionable after a couple months, proving they sent it bad is impossible, so I usually just accept the loss. But there were clear-cut situations where the mistake was obviously theirs. I once got a nut butter that was already expired and had visible mold inside. Since I could easily document the purchase date and expiration date, I asked for my money back. Nothing happened. They dragged it out for weeks, constantly asking me for additional "proof" when I'd already submitted documentation and photos. Once I complained about how they handled it, they offered me a discount code that turned out to be broken. I spent another week trying to call and email to get it fixed, with zero luck. What really gets me is that they've basically got a monopoly on certain items.
This place seems disorganized and way too difficult to reach. Their organic rolled oats made me feel awful, plus they barely look like rolled oats, just small fragments and pieces. After eating some for a few days, I got sick and ended up throwing out several pounds. Pretty disappointing overall.
I spotted some black spots on their organic sprouted cashews recently. Not entirely certain, but it looks like it could be mold. Just wanted to give other shoppers a heads up to check carefully when you get your package.
As someone who's crazy about walnut butter and has sampled practically every brand out there, I can confidently say Blue Mountain Organic's version is hands down the best I've ever tasted. I grabbed two 16 ounce jars to cut back on shipping fees. This walnut butter is genuinely delicious and I'm definitely going to keep ordering it.
I make my own oat mix because the taste is incredible, and Blue Mountain Organics is the only spot I've found that sells whole raw oats. My first order of 25 pounds was fantastic and delicious. The second time, I open the bag and there are dark black kernels scattered throughout that honestly look like rodent waste. The flavor is off too. The customer service rep told me they were mustard seeds and not to worry. Whether they're mustard seeds or rodent droppings, neither belongs in my oats. I'm disappointed with how they handled this and I'm going to shop somewhere else for my oats now. Plus I'll need to find a farm animal that can eat the rest of this batch.
These nut butters taste absolutely fantastic, and the customer service folks are genuinely excellent. My cashew butter container shattered during shipping and they replaced it without me even having to pay for return shipping. Big thanks to Geo for turning my day around!
Really let down by this order. The shipping took forever and the cost was ridiculously high for how long it took. The nuts themselves have this weird chalky film on them and the help I got from customer service was just okay at best.
This is my go-to spot for fresh organic nuts, nut butters, seeds, flours, and similar products. Quality stays consistently excellent, everything tastes wonderfully fresh, and the prices are reasonable. Orders arrive well packaged and quickly. Their raw almond butter is the best I've had anywhere: smooth, rich, and naturally sweet with zero added sugars. They treat their workers well too. Appreciate what you do!
