What Shoppers Say About Blundstone US
Blundstone US receives mixed reviews with significant quality and customer service concerns. Shoppers who had positive experiences praise the company's attentive customer service team, quick delivery, and boot quality and comfort. However, the majority of reviewers report serious issues: multiple customers received wrong sizes and faced unhelpful return policies with missed windows, some experienced order cancellations due to pricing errors with minimal resolution, and several complained about declining product quality with boots falling apart after a year of regular use and design changes (such as the removal of soft leather heel backing in favor of rough stitching) that cause physical discomfort.
The pattern of complaints suggests systemic problems with quality control, sizing accuracy, and customer service consistency. Negative reviewers express particular frustration with the gap between Blundstone's stated values and actual customer treatment, with some indicating they are switching to competing brands. While a small segment of customers remains satisfied, the high proportion of one-star ratings indicates many shoppers feel the company has failed to deliver on both product durability and service standards.

Sorted by: Most recentBlundstone 519 Chelsea boots used to have a nice soft leather backing at the heel that made them super comfortable to wear. I just picked up my third pair, and unfortunately the soft leather backing is gone now. Instead, there's rough stitching on the back of the boot that's causing my heel and achilles area to get irritated and rubbed raw. Looks like they've started cutting corners on manufacturing. It's disappointing because these boots were my go-to footwear for the last decade.
I bought boots for my daughter back in late October as a Christmas gift and ordered them early to make sure they'd arrive in time. She normally wears a size 7.5, but when I gave them to her they were half a size too small. When I contacted them about exchanging for the right size, they told me I'd missed the return window. I get it if the boots were already worn and I wanted money back, but I just need a different size since they haven't been used. The customer service approach is really frustrating for such expensive boots. We definitely won't be purchasing from them again or recommending them to anybody.
They shipped me the wrong size and then blamed me for the mistake. That doesn't match up with what they say their company stands for. I'm returning these and going with a different brand instead.
Got a pair of Blundstone 1609 Antique Brown Chelsea boots back in January and had an amazing experience overall. Their customer service team actually spent time helping me figure out sizing since one of my feet is a half size smaller, and they gave me real solutions instead of just generic answers. Delivery was quick and easy. The quality and comfort are exactly what you'd hope for from this brand. They've performed great through all kinds of conditions, from snowy mountain weather to everyday use, and they still feel as good as the day I got them. No issues with durability or how they perform. Would definitely purchase from them again.
Blundstone quality has really gone downhill. My last pair fell apart after just a year of regular use. Previously I could get 4 to 5 years out of them with the same wearing patterns. Super disappointed because it seems like they've switched to cheaper manufacturing. I'm not sure how they'll win back my business at this point.
What a letdown this company turned out to be. Their advertising and pricing don't match reality at all. I placed an order and two days later they cancelled it on me, claiming they made a mistake with the price. Then they just offered a refund with zero effort to make things right or find any other solution. That's not how a big business should treat customers, especially one that messed up their own pricing system. I thought I was getting a legitimate sale because that particular boot style was marked much lower than all the others. The customer service is disappointing too, just automated replies.
Ordered several pairs of boots for a trip coming up. My first order took over a week just to get shipped. I was calling almost every day but customer service kept sending back the same generic template responses that didn't actually tell me anything useful. Still waiting on the second pair. For the price they're charging, I'd expect better handling and actual communication instead of automated messages.
The quality is really disappointing and the company advertises a warranty they don't actually stand behind. The heels fell apart on me. Save your money and look elsewhere.
Terrible experience with the rubber soles on these boots. I purchased their classic Chelsea boots model 500 twice from different retailers, and both pairs had the same problem. A few years after buying them, the soft rubber soles began breaking down chemically, developing deep cracks on the bottom of both shoes. This wasn't from heavy use either, it was just age-related deterioration of the rubber material itself, basically turning into mush from chemical breakdown. I've owned rubber sole shoes for over two decades that are still holding up fine, and I've got other footwear with Vibram soles that seem like they'll last forever, yet Blundstone refuses to use quality soles like that. When I complained to their customer service, they just said it was out of warranty. It's frustrating because you're getting quality leather uppers but stuck with inferior rubber soles that deteriorate over time regardless of how much you actually wear them.
These are some seriously good boots. Just got the Blundstone Men's Thermal Chelsea Boots model 1477 in antique brown and they're fantastic looking, super comfy, and perfect whether you're heading into the city or out on the trails. I'm honestly amazed at how they pull off being sturdy, comfortable, stylish, and warm all at the same time. Works great in the city or the countryside. I was after winter boots for New England that would keep my feet warm but still be easy to slip on and off, and these hit the mark perfectly. These are my first Blundstones and I'm pretty sure more will follow. They're not meant for serious snow or freezing temperatures, so you'd still want separate snow boots for that situation. Since I got them though, they've been on my feet every single day. One thing I wish is they offered wide sizes. I've got really wide feet and had to go up a full size to get them to fit properly.
