What Shoppers Say About Busch Gardens Europe
Busch Gardens Europe receives overwhelmingly negative feedback from shoppers, with significant concerns about operational reliability and pricing. Reviewers consistently report that major attractions are frequently closed or non-functional, limiting the number of rides available during visits. Additional complaints focus on high costs, including base ticket prices around 158 dollars, parking fees of 38 dollars, locker rental charges of 13 dollars per two-hour block, and extra fees for amenities like the skyride. Staffing problems are repeatedly mentioned, with reports of understaffed facilities leading to long wait times, closed food venues and bathrooms in poor condition.
Beyond operational issues, visitors express disappointment with the overall park condition and atmosphere. Reviewers describe the park as feeling outdated and tired, lacking the energy expected from a major theme park. Some visitors report concerning staff behavior, including staff distraction and unprofessional conduct. The combination of high admission and ancillary costs paired with limited attractions operating results in visitors feeling they received poor value for their money and recommending others spend their money elsewhere.

Sorted by: Most recentThe attractions themselves are okay, but a lot of the big ones aren't operating. The real problem is the cost. A basic ticket runs 158 dollars, parking is 38 dollars, and they charge 13 dollars to rent a locker for every two hour block you're in the park with penalties if you go over. Even when you pay for storage, the park won't guarantee your belongings are safe and their staff doesn't even know how to properly secure the lockers. Spending over 200 dollars to get in and have half the rides closed is just not worth it.
Absolutely the worst theme park we've ever visited. We took a bus from Orlando expecting a great day and left completely disappointed. Sure, the rides themselves are decent when they actually operate, but that's rarely the case. During our 10-hour visit, we only managed to get on 2 attractions because everything else was broken down. When rides finally did open, the wait times were insane and the number of staff members was way too few. I honestly felt like I was responsible for my own safety on those 2 rides. We also ran into staff members on three separate occasions who were incredibly rude and dismissive. It seemed like the park doesn't prioritize training their employees properly. The food situation was equally bad. They advertise an all-day dining plan as some great deal, but the food stations are always out of something, and what you do get tastes terrible. We're talking stale, cold, processed junk at ridiculous prices. A bottle of Powerade cost over 8 dollars and coffee was the same price. The dining package itself runs 60 dollars per person. We wasted an entire day driving out from Orlando for this.
This was one of the worst days we've had at any attraction. We watched staff members physically fighting with each other near Iron Gwazi, and several employees were distracted on their phones the whole time. When it rained, there was basically nothing to do and we ended up stuck in a queue for two hours straight. For the money we spent, it was a total disaster. They offered us a pass valid for a year instead of a refund, which is useless if you don't live in the area. We're telling everyone we know to stay away from this place. On top of everything, food and drinks cost way too much, the park is in terrible condition, and maintenance is clearly not a priority.
The staff is clearly stretched too thin because they're severely understaffed. The bathrooms are disgusting, and the lines for food are absolutely ridiculous, mostly because they don't have enough people working. I was shocked to learn they charge 5 dollars just to ride the skyride. We also had to wait more than an hour to get a RAP pass because of how short-handed they are, which is completely unacceptable.
If you're thinking about going here, I'd suggest spending your money elsewhere. We went to this location recently and found most of the major attractions shut down, plus the entertainment shows and food venues were closed too. When we complained to the staff, they honestly couldn't care less. The place looks tired and old and honestly probably should just be closed down. Go to Universal or Disney instead, those parks are way better.
I visited while traveling in the US and came away disappointed. Right away, I noticed numerous rides and attractions weren't operating, which made the park feel incomplete. The whole place felt outdated and lacked the vibrant energy you'd expect from a major theme park. I was also bothered by how the big cats were housed in small, tight spaces while roller coasters roared overhead constantly. That seemed stressful and unfair to those animals. The facilities weren't great either, with bathrooms that were filthy and not properly cleaned. Lunch turned out to be another letdown. We went to Dragon Fire Grill for Mexican food but they had no rice option and no vegan choices. We wound up with Chinese food instead, which was undercooked, loaded with salt, and the staff serving it seemed annoyed and unhelpful. I was really hoping for better, but between closed attractions, animal welfare concerns, and poor food and service throughout, it didn't meet expectations. I'd suggest checking out other theme parks instead.
The park feels grimy, the lines are extremely long, and there just aren't enough workers to handle the crowds. They have more food vendors than actual rides to experience.
The fast pass system here is misleading and deceptive. The website lists prices with tiny asterisks, but when you're actually purchasing, you find out the real cost is more than double what was shown. Their premium fast pass option claims to get you through all the lines without limits, but it doesn't work on three major roller coasters and many other rides. What we didn't realize is that you actually need the more expensive fast pass plus version to get those benefits, and once you've bought the wrong one, there's no way to upgrade. It's basically a bait and switch scheme.
