Here's the problem with how this mounts to your vehicle: it only connects from the battery to the unit itself. There's no protection between the battery and other components like your computer. An electromagnetic pulse will follow the wires and fry everything in its path. A real surge protector goes from the power source to your device and actually interrupts the circuit like a breaker would. This setup doesn't do any of that, so it can't stop the surge from getting through.

They advertise a hassle-free return policy, but that's not what I experienced. This is a rip-off site selling what amounts to a $12 box for nearly $400. The product offers zero actual protection. How could something with just three cables and a logo possibly shield anything? The claims on their website are bigger than what surge protectors worth thousands can do. It's basically a standard $6 PVC electrical outlet box meant for outdoor use with a $3 weatherproof cover that's got a hole drilled for an LED light. Inside you'll find maybe a resistor or two and a cheap LED, nothing more. They didn't even invest in getting a custom enclosure made. Sure, the empty box itself might survive an EMP blast since there's barely anything inside it, but that doesn't mean whatever's connected to it will be protected. Your car and house won't make it, only the $390 box made from $12 worth of materials.
