What Shoppers Say About Ensure
Ensure is rated 1.4 out of 5 by 17 shoppers, with the vast majority of reviews expressing severe dissatisfaction with the company's service. Recurring complaints center on extremely slow claims processing (one reviewer reported 791 days to resolve a claim), unresponsive customer service, difficulty obtaining replacement vehicles, unexplained billing issues, and high cancellation fees that can exceed refund amounts. Shoppers report being unable to reach the company, receiving inadequate communication from outsourced partners, and facing complications even when attempting to resolve simple account changes or refunds.
A small minority of reviewers gave higher ratings, though positive feedback is minimal in the available reviews. The overwhelming consensus among shoppers is that Ensure delivers poor value despite low premiums, with customer service failures and claims handling delays creating significant frustration. Many reviewers explicitly state they would not use the company again and describe their experiences as nightmarish or among the worst they have encountered.

Sorted by: Most recentWe're thrilled with the fantastic service that Ensure Finance delivered to us. As first time buyers, we were searching for guidance on home loans and mortgage solutions that matched our needs. Ensure Finance gave us excellent advice and guidance, plus they walked alongside us during the entire home buying experience. They're still sending us info about different loan options now. We absolutely recommend Ensure Finance to anyone who wants a broker or is thinking about switching. Their team is incredibly patient, helpful, reliable and knows their stuff when it comes to finances. The way they treated us with respect made us feel confident and gave us the assurance we needed. Because of all this, we're giving Ensure Finance a five star rating.
The rates were good and affordable. I didn't have to make a claim but getting in touch with them was incredibly difficult. Another issue is they won't give you renewal quotes until just 14 days before your renewal date, which doesn't give you much time to shop around.
They cancelled my insurance without any explanation even though I had 7 months of payments already made.
My wife's vehicle was hit by someone with an Ensure policy. To be fair, they reached out to me quickly and sorted most things out. But I was told to ring if I needed anything. I phoned 4 separate times. The first call just disconnected. The second time I got transferred and was on hold for 105 minutes before I gave up. The third person was pretty rude and short with me. The fourth agent was actually nice but couldn't help and said someone would call back tonight. I should mention that we didn't mention anything about accents.
My premium jumped from 303 to 476 despite having 20 years without a claim. Getting them to process my cancellation was a nightmare because they kept me on hold forever. Eventually I had to hang up. They already got all my cancellation information down. Why does it take so long just to confirm the cancellation? And the music they play while you wait is incredibly annoying. Ensure, you've lost another loyal customer. Also, their 0345 number is charging me 30p per minute which is why I was stuck on hold so long.
What's happening with this country? We're paying more for everything, phones, vehicles, televisions, fuel and vehicle insurance. People really need to check their automatic renewals because they might get a shock from this company. Some folks are seeing increases over 90 percent. That's a total ripoff. The financial regulator should really look into this.
After trying for 5 days to get through, I finally connected with someone from the company. They gave me a phone number that doesn't work and an email address that won't accept messages. It's shocking how poorly they treat their customers. They send you a letter blaming you for your accident and telling you to contact them, but they don't provide a working phone number or email, just a person's name that nobody recognizes. The service is absolutely terrible.
