What Shoppers Say About Funjet
Funjet is rated 1.3 out of 5 by 17 shoppers, with the overwhelming majority reporting serious problems. Recurring complaints center on deceptive pricing practices (charges significantly higher than booking directly with hotels or airlines), inflexible refund policies even in cases of medical emergencies or travel warnings, poor customer service, and difficulty resolving account issues. Shoppers report being denied refunds or credits despite providing medical documentation, having reservations altered without consent, and arriving on time only to be told their seats were sold.
Very few shoppers report positive experiences with Funjet. The company appears to prioritize revenue collection over customer accommodation, with reviewers describing practices they characterize as deceptive or scam-like. Multiple reviewers state they would give zero stars if the rating system allowed it, and several indicate they were required to use Funjet rather than choosing it voluntarily.

Sorted by: Most recentThis company completely took advantage of me several years back, and I'm curious if they still operate this way. I booked a vacation and showed up 15 minutes ahead of the scheduled departure time. They told me my seats had been sold because they considered me late. The year before, I'd taken the same trip and arrived right as they were closing the gate with no issues. This time, they offered zero assistance. My entire family was standing there devastated because months of vacation planning were falling apart. Then an agent mentioned they had another flight in about an hour and if someone didn't show up, they could sell us those seats for a fee. Sure enough, an hour later they called me over and said there was a no-show, and for $250 per ticket we could get those spots. I paid it to save the trip. We sat down and got comfortable, and then a different family showed up with the same situation as mine, saying they were 15 minutes early. They got offered the exact same deal I just fell for.
Don't book with them! Their customer service is basically nonexistent and they only care about making money without any concern for safety. There was a travel warning in effect for that destination, or at least there was the day before my trip, and they're saying I can't get a refund. They offered no alternative solutions. This isn't my first problem with them and I should have paid attention to the warning signs the first time. I used to recommend them to people all the time, but if they're willing to prioritize profits over keeping customers safe, I can't support them anymore.
They're refusing to delete my personal account and information. I just created an account to look up a reservation I had made through a travel agent, not directly with them. I confirmed my identity with all my details. Now they won't remove it unless I have the reservation number, which I don't have since I didn't book with them directly. I've escalated this with the BBB and with my state attorney general's office. I want my account and data completely deleted.
This was the absolute worst. I'd give it zero stars if I could. They use deceptive pricing tactics. Their rates are way higher than booking directly with resorts or using other travel sites. I booked a resort and flights separately at different times, then they suddenly packaged it together without asking me or getting my permission. When I tried to cancel just the accommodations, they said I had to cancel the entire package. Dealing with them as a bride trying to plan was incredibly stressful. I have travel insurance so I don't need credits; I want my full refund. A customer service representative named Juillet refused to give me straight answers, and Daniella, who is supposedly a supervisor, wouldn't even speak to me on the date and time I called. Multiple guests of mine have already cancelled their bookings through them because of the ridiculous pricing. This has been my worst experience ever. If my remaining guests encounter problems, I'm looking into a class action lawsuit. Based on the other 178 negative reviews out there, we'd have a strong case.
I'd honestly give them zero stars if I could. This is a terrible company and a complete scam. I was required to book through them for a wedding resort stay. Just booking via them cost almost $1500 more than booking directly with the resort. I purchased travel protection too. Then a serious health issue came up and my doctor advised me not to travel. The struggle I went through trying to cancel that protected reservation was absolutely ridiculous. I sent doctor's letters and everything else I could think of, and they refused to refund me. I kept getting shuffled between different people and nobody actually helped. So I called my credit card company and disputed the charge. DO NOT USE THEM. They're not even accredited with the Better Business Bureau!
They arranged an air credit with United for me and my family totaling $2961. I developed stage 4 cancer and needed chemotherapy, radiation, and a stem cell transplant at a major medical center in Chicago. I sent them all my medical documentation and they rejected my claim. Then I went directly to the airline and they approved the reimbursement, but sent the credit back to them since they were the original booking agent from my payment. I've spent over 5 hours on calls with them multiple times and given them proof of the airline's reimbursement plus notes from my doctors. Now they're saying they need to call the hospital to confirm my treatment actually happened. This company is unethical and people need to know to stay away. They prey on vulnerable people.
They cancelled my resort reservation without giving any notice, so when I arrived in Puerto Rico, there was no room waiting for me. I've been waiting for them to respond. I've learned this happened to a few other people in my area around the same time. Still nothing from them. I'm really disappointed. Be cautious when dealing with these people. Their customer service is completely unresponsive.
This is the worst company out there. Their customer service is terrible. They're running a scam. My flight got cancelled and the airline sent them a $496 refund. They only gave me $198 and kept the rest. When I called them out on it, they denied even receiving the money, even though the airline sent them multiple confirmation emails. Do yourself a favor and don't do business with them. They're scammers, plain and simple.
We used them to arrange a vacation with flights through a major airline. Our first flight was delayed so badly that we missed our connecting flight by just 3 minutes. After an agent told us to run for it, my wife and I sprinted through the airport but didn't make it. They put us on the next available flight the following day, which was the last flight of the day to Jamaica. We lost our entire first day at the resort. After we filed a complaint with the airline, they asked for itemized bills from our resort stay. I've been trying to get that paperwork organized and have filed several complaints through their support email without getting a single response. When I spoke with a representative, they claimed they'd already emailed me everything I needed. That email never arrived.
What a total rip-off! We paid way too much for a trip from the DC area down to Liberia, Costa Rica. The price made us think we'd be getting luxury accommodations, but that couldn't have been further from the truth. Our travel arrangement was handled through a Baltimore-based agency. Three of us booked this trip and the room was incredibly cramped at maybe 300 square feet. Instead of the advertised queen beds, we got 2 full-sized beds and I ended up sleeping on a cot for all 4 nights. The bathroom situation was awkward with a see-through toilet door. The all-inclusive property itself, while staffed by friendly people, felt very basic and budget-minded. The meals were mediocre at best and the beverages were terrible. All those supposed perks we were supposed to get as preferred guests were completely misrepresented. We got curious and did some checking around. We looked at the resort's own website and found their top-tier room rates were only $800 per night. Then we checked airfare prices and found flights for less than $500 each even booking just 2 days out. Do the math: $800 times 4 nights equals $3200 for the room, plus $500 times 3 people equals $1500 for flights, and they charged us considerably more than that combined total.
