I placed 4 orders totaling over $800 before Christmas and had nothing but problems. One shipment arrived with baked potatoes instead of the lobster tails I'd ordered. I called customer service and sat on hold for over 40 minutes, then spent another 15 minutes describing the mix up. They said they'd resend it right away, but my client never got the lobster and I got no credit for the over $100 I spent. The issue was never fixed. I also ate a crab cake from my order and got sick immediately after. I used to hear good things about this company, but clearly their quality and service have fallen off big time. The food wasn't even fit to eat, the customer service team was rude and refused to fix anything, and the whole thing was a disaster. I switched to ordering from Omaha Steaks and things have been great. After that nightmare, I'm done with Kansas City Steak and won't tell anyone else to try them either.

Got a 3.5 pound prime rib as a Christmas present from this company, which was my first time trying them. Unfortunately, it was way too salty to eat. Not a great way to start a relationship with a new vendor.
The pricing on these steaks is absolutely ridiculous. Four 8 ounce tenderloins going for $179 means you're looking at roughly $89 per pound. I can walk into a local butcher shop, grab the same cuts in the same size, and still have a hundred bucks left in my pocket.
They were awful to me after they sent the wrong items and didn't package everything right. I just asked if they could send me a box to send things back and they refused. Now I've got to call back tomorrow to see if I can at least get my money back and return everything. I'm not asking for freebies, I just want what I originally ordered.
The NY strip steaks came with way too much fat on them and the cuts weren't even consistent. With only two steaks, one was barely half an inch thick while the other was over an inch and a quarter. We also ordered Tomahawk steaks for $149 that turned out to be tough. Really disappointed.
First time ordering from Kansas City Steak House and I'm really let down. Instead of sending me the whole smoked turkey I ordered, they shipped out a steak by mistake. They told me they'd send a replacement, but the earliest they can deliver is next week. I needed that turkey for my Christmas dinner, so that's not going to work. I need a refund right away. Save yourself the trouble and shop somewhere else if you want them to handle orders correctly.
They used to be amazing, but things have really slipped. The steaks are fantastic about 75 percent of the time, though shipping takes forever even when you pay extra. It's disappointing how much they've changed. Now the filets are glued together from multiple pieces instead of being whole, so an 8 ounce filet might actually be 3 to 5 chunks stuck together. Some of the packages aren't sealed properly either, leaving you with gray or greenish meat. And good luck calling their customer service because you've only got about a 30 percent shot at getting someone who's actually nice. We used to love ordering from them, but now we just skip them.
The steaks themselves are honestly the best, way better than restaurant quality. So why only 2 stars? The shipping is a disaster. I dropped over $700 and you'd think they could keep my steaks actually frozen when they ship them. I'm in Arizona where it gets 115 degrees out here, so wouldn't you throw in some extra dry ice to make sure things stay cold? And getting everything to me on the promised delivery date? Nope. One box showed up completely bloody and most of the others had partially thawed out, so those aren't going to taste great anymore. They're replacing the bloody steaks but they're saying no to the filets and flat iron.
