What Shoppers Say About Maison Margiela
Maison Margiela receives highly polarized feedback, with shoppers rating it 1.6 out of 5 based on 19 reviews. The store struggles significantly with website stability and inventory management. Shoppers report critical issues including site crashes during product drops that result in overbooking, persistent inventory discrepancies between online displays and actual stock, payment processing problems, and repeated order cancellations. A strict 30-day customer service policy has frustrated customers seeking support beyond that window.
On the positive side, some shoppers praise the brand's customer service team, particularly the Italian support staff who have gone above and beyond to resolve issues and handle defective items. Product quality, particularly fragrances, receives appreciation from satisfied customers. In-store experiences have been noted as professional and welcoming. However, these positive interactions are significantly outweighed by technical failures and logistical frustrations that have left the majority of recent reviewers disappointed.

Sorted by: Most recentStay away from this website. I placed an order on December 9th and that's where it ended. They haven't even charged me yet. I did manage to get two short responses from their customer service after sending many emails, basically telling me to wait and maybe they'll ship it when they feel like it.
Their customer service is terrible. I tried reaching out about my refund and never got a single response.
I've been waiting for a response from their team and got nothing but silence. For what they charge, that's completely unacceptable. I emailed them four separate times in one week with zero replies. My shipment didn't come with an invoice or packing slip, which makes returning it nearly impossible. Plus the box itself arrived damaged.
I bought my girlfriend a fragrance for our anniversary and the bill came to around $77. They charged my credit card three times for that same purchase, totaling $234. I called right away and spent twenty minutes on hold before they hung up on me. Called back and finally got someone who said this was normal and something about an extra charge that would disappear later. I was furious because they actually took $234 from my account. Eventually I had to dispute it with my bank, who confirmed the triple charge was real. The customer service guy was no help and I couldn't even understand his explanation. My bank got my money back for me. I honestly don't even care if my girlfriend likes the scent at this point. I'll never shop with them again. Their service was useless and they basically robbed me.
This is frustrating on every level. I agree with all the other complaints out there. It's clear they shouldn't be operating in the US if this is how they treat customers. I'm done shopping with them. The worst part is I posted a genuine review on their site and they took it down.
The customer service here is a disaster. I ordered something as a gift and they told me it never showed up, so they pushed me to place another order. They claimed the original charge would disappear from my account. When I checked on the refund, they kept blaming my bank. Turns out the first order actually shipped, so my friend got two copies. They refused to help fix it. This shouldn't happen at a major brand and it felt like a scam.
I spent over fourteen hundred dollars on a fragrance order that never arrived. One of their reps told me to file a claim with the shipping company, which I did, and then stopped responding. I've sent more than twenty emails with nothing back. Very disappointed. I'm going to take this up with my bank instead.
I ordered a scented candle from their website as a gift and it got here quickly, but the actual product was missing. The box showed up with just tissue and some samples inside, like the candle either got stolen or never made it into the package. When I emailed to complain, the rep said it left the warehouse fine and suggested the recipient may have damaged it. But she has a camera on her door and knows that didn't happen. After that, nobody on their team has responded to my follow-up messages even though it's been over a week. What really bothers me is how they shipped it through UPS SurePost, which means I can't file a claim with UPS because the last part went through USPS, and I can't file with USPS without paperwork I don't have. There's basically zero accountability on their end.
They ship damaged products and then ignore you when you try to send them back. I think that's the point - they hope you'll get so frustrated that you won't bother returning something overseas at your own expense. Items are often one of a kind so there's no way to replace it. Customer service is really awful and the condition of the merchandise is bad.
