What Shoppers Say About Modloft
Modloft receives deeply polarized reviews, with shoppers either highly satisfied or extremely dissatisfied. The satisfied customers praise the furniture selection, design quality, and report positive customer service experiences, with some noting they confidently purchased multiple items from the brand. However, the majority of reviewers report serious problems: defective products that the company refuses to replace (citing handmade frames as acceptable), bait-and-switch pricing tactics where items increase in price after discount codes are applied, inconsistent return and exchange policies with surprise fees, and severe delays or missing shipments with poor communication. Several shoppers report that items listed as in stock are revealed to be backordered only after purchase, and that follow-up communication is unreliable and frustrating.
The most common complaints center on customer service failures and deceptive practices rather than product quality itself. Shoppers express frustration with inconsistent information during the ordering process, difficulty getting refunds or exchanges, and a lack of accountability when issues arise. While design and aesthetics earn consistent praise, the combination of delivery delays, pricing manipulation, and unresponsive support has left the majority of recent reviewers warning others to be cautious.

Sorted by: Most recentRecently relocated from Chicago down to Florida, and the moving company misplaced several of my Modloft Pearl bookcases. Since I'd bought them over 7 years prior, I figured replacements would be out of reach. But when I reached out, Modloft stepped up and sent me new ones with zero charge. They're a company you can actually trust with premium contemporary furnishings that blow away basic stuff. Can't even compare them to IKEA or similar retailers because they're operating at a completely different standard of quality.
Total scam operation. Not only is the product completely useless but it will cause damage to your home.
Biggest mistake buying from this place! I ordered a Netta outdoor set back in April after speaking with someone at their store. They promised me charcoal gray delivery in about 3 weeks. Immediately charged my card, then delayed shipment three separate times. When it finally showed up, completely wrong color arrived at my door. They claimed it just looks different from the photos, but it was clearly khaki green, not gray at all. Asked them to take it back and now they want to hit me with a $299 fee plus 20% restocking charge. Complete rip off for all their broken promises. This business needs to shut down.
Terrible business to work with. Ordered a couch, they took payment off my card, and now weeks have passed with constant shipment delays. They won't explain why. Every single week when I call, same excuse about shipping next Monday. Not coming back to this company again. Keep your distance.
Stay away from this company, seriously. I'm an interior designer and purchased an outdoor ping pong table for a client. Within just a year, the whole thing started chipping and falling apart. Since I'd bought it a couple months before installing it at the client site, they said warranty doesn't apply and refused any support. Now I'm stuck replacing the whole table myself out of pocket because I actually stand behind my work unlike Modloft. This was a $4000+ purchase and they basically shrugged it off. Zero customer service and products that don't hold up. I won't shop there again and if you're smart, you won't either.
As someone who designs spaces and does lots of staging for new condos, my recent dealings with Modloft have been absolutely terrible. I invested over $5,000 in a table, and the entire experience from getting it delivered through working with their support team was deeply disappointing. The shipping treatment of the table was careless and irresponsible. When I opened the box, the damage was immediately obvious and severe, not just some minor marks. The table was basically ruined. I called customer service to handle it and asked for either a replacement or refund. Instead, I got pushback and flat out refusal to help. Their unwillingness to cooperate or fix anything was beyond irritating. To make it worse, Modloft never once apologized. It's shocking that they can handle customers who spend thousands with such little regard.
Leaving my experience here so you can make an informed choice. Got a Worth Bed but before ordering I asked if they could hold it since we hadn't finalized our address yet. They said sure and promised to coordinate with logistics to keep it for us. About ten days later it shipped anyway even though we weren't ready because our move date shifted. We had to rent a truck and move a 300-pound bed ourselves. They didn't even offer to refund the white glove delivery fee they charged. We also ordered a dining room table listed as in stock with a ship window of mid-October. Four weeks went by with no shipment. When I asked for an update they said next week. It didn't happen, so I asked to cancel since we'd been waiting five weeks for something supposedly in stock. The reason they gave? We live somewhere they don't deliver to often. We live in Los Angeles. Delivery eventually got quoted at 12 weeks out so I cancelled. They slapped us with a $600 restock fee for something that was never even shipped.
Would give negative five stars if possible. Ordered 2 nightstands and 1 bed. The bed showed up with a missing leg, wasting money on installation because of their mistake, and all they offered was to send a replacement leg. When I went to set up the nightstands I found the drawers were defective. After tons of back and forth they sent someone to fix them but he was unsure if the repair would actually last. During all this I also mentioned that the two nightstands had totally different top color patterns even though they were the same model. Now one nightstand top is fading and peeling. Each of these cost me $640! Modloft has never admitted they delivered poor quality items. Zero compensation for all the wasted money and frustration. Pathetic service.
Got this table about 2 years ago. One night when nobody was home the glass top just shattered on its own. When I looked into it, I realized the glass was siliconed to the wood with an entire tube of caulk. Since the glass was glued down so tightly, when the wood naturally expanded and contracted it caused the glass to break. Spent the next several days cleaning glass shards everywhere and cut myself multiple times handling the debris. Modloft's support team was terrible. They wouldn't apologize, accused me of causing the damage intentionally, and refused to discuss getting the top replaced. This is a seriously dangerous product design and customer service was abysmal. Steer clear of Modloft.
Bought two side tables for $1300 and the quality is really poor. The marble and granite work is bad, the construction is sloppy. I've tried reaching out multiple times but get no response. Feels like a scam operation passing off cheap furniture as quality goods to unsuspecting buyers.
