What Shoppers Say About Modloft
Modloft receives deeply polarized reviews, with shoppers either highly satisfied or extremely dissatisfied. The satisfied customers praise the furniture selection, design quality, and report positive customer service experiences, with some noting they confidently purchased multiple items from the brand. However, the majority of reviewers report serious problems: defective products that the company refuses to replace (citing handmade frames as acceptable), bait-and-switch pricing tactics where items increase in price after discount codes are applied, inconsistent return and exchange policies with surprise fees, and severe delays or missing shipments with poor communication. Several shoppers report that items listed as in stock are revealed to be backordered only after purchase, and that follow-up communication is unreliable and frustrating.
The most common complaints center on customer service failures and deceptive practices rather than product quality itself. Shoppers express frustration with inconsistent information during the ordering process, difficulty getting refunds or exchanges, and a lack of accountability when issues arise. While design and aesthetics earn consistent praise, the combination of delivery delays, pricing manipulation, and unresponsive support has left the majority of recent reviewers warning others to be cautious.

Sorted by: Most recentWorthless product. Bought 3 bar stools at counter height and paid nearly $800 each. You'd think at that price point the quality would be outstanding, but it's not. Less than a year later and they look ancient because the wood veneer backs scratch so easily against hard surfaces, and they're already pretty beaten up. They're meant to go next to a counter which is always hard, so I reached out to my retailer who filed a warranty claim with Modloft. Modloft came back saying it's my fault and the chairs are too close to the counter. I gave them a video showing the chair almost a foot away but when you rotate it hits the counter and damages the back. There's literally no comfortable sitting position where you can eat or drink at the counter without the rotating chair contacting the back. This is clearly a design and manufacturing flaw, but Modloft responded with basically well other customers don't report this. Unacceptable.
Ordered an expandable dining table and noticed some slight damage when it got to me. They jumped into action right away arranging a replacement top. Unfortunately the replacement arrived even more damaged than what came initially. Despite the setbacks they stayed in constant contact and worked hard on getting the packaging right for the next attempt. Although it took 6 months due to stock issues, the whole experience with their support made the wait feel worthwhile. The Astor Dining Table looks even more striking in your actual space than the pictures.
Got an expandable dining table and after a few days spotted some damage. They immediately offered to send a replacement tabletop no problem. That one got damaged in shipping too, worse than the original. They kept working with me and made sure the next one was packaged way better to prevent damage. The whole process took 6 months because of backorders, but dealing with their team made it totally worth the wait. The Astor Dining Table turned out even more beautiful than the website showed.
Put in an order for a King Bed that showed as in stock on September 21st. They said to expect it in October. After waiting and hearing nothing, I called to check status and was told it was already in transit. October comes and goes, then November, then December, still nothing. Customer service keeps saying they'll look into it and call back but they never do. By mid January they finally say it's with the delivery company. I was able to confirm it's sitting there waiting to get scheduled. Hoping it shows up soon. Just want to warn people that ordering from Modloft means you'll spend tons of your own time chasing down your order. How does a bed sitting in stock take more than 5 months?
Got the Astor Dining Table and initially was impressed when it arrived looking really nice. But after using it normally, even something as simple as sliding a plate across it causes scratches. Quality is terrible for the price. Tried to reach out but it took forever to get someone to respond despite multiple attempts. When they finally did, the answer was basically too bad from their support staff. Also noticed that negative reviews get deleted from their website and social pages. If you want honest feedback, check their Yelp or BBB instead of their official channels.
