What Shoppers Say About Ollies
Ollies is rated 1.6 out of 5 by 20 shoppers, with the vast majority of reviews expressing serious dissatisfaction. The most consistent complaints center on store cleanliness and maintenance issues, with multiple shoppers reporting dirty aisles, blocked shopping areas, and poorly maintained bathrooms across different locations. Additional significant concerns involve problems with the store's credit card program, where customers report difficulty activating cards, account shutdowns after fraud reviews, and frustrating customer service interactions requiring ID verification.
A small portion of shoppers report positive experiences, suggesting the store's appeal lies in its merchandise selection when conditions permit. However, the overwhelming pattern of one-star reviews points to systemic operational and management issues. Complaints also include understaffing that prevents proper store maintenance and staff interactions ranging from unhelpful to aggressive. These recurring problems suggest that structural issues, rather than isolated incidents, are driving customer dissatisfaction across multiple store locations.

Sorted by: Most recentBought a heater in late April for $40 to use at the office. Fast forward a few months and the power button broke. Took it back for a return but they wouldn't accept it. For the same price I could've bought something better from a regular store that actually lasts. Shopping elsewhere from now on. This place stinks.
Grabbed a portable air conditioner for $330 and found out afterwards it needs window or wall venting. Now I'm out the money with a unit that doesn't even cool my bedroom properly. The room stays hot as an oven with no improvement at all.
If I could give zero stars I would. This was my first and last visit. Picked up an air fryer but the racks wouldn't fit because the interior was warped. The staff put it back on the shelf even though I explained it was defective. I tried buying a different one and it charred everything. Both units went back. Pretty sure they just end up back on display. Total garbage.
Would rate zero stars if possible. Came in looking for something from the ad and couldn't locate it. Asked a cashier for help and got told they were slammed. When I asked if anyone else could assist, the answer was just no with no effort to find someone. Eventually another worker helped and said the item wasn't in stock. The customer service here is awful.
The crew at the local store really puts in the effort for customers. The place is cool, has solid deals and some fun finds. Spent a whole hour in there once just browsing.
Disrespectful management. People smoking at the entrance. Dirty floors and lots of empty shelves throughout the store.
Got a bed set that came apart during the first wash on gentle cycle. Spent that much money on a comforter set and it destroys itself the minute you clean it. That's just wrong.
Just so people know what they're getting into. They need to improve checkout operations. Lines regularly have 10 or more people with just one register open. Not everything is cheaper than other stores either. Some deals are legit but good items disappear fast. Check dates on food because if you don't use it right away you could end up with expired stuff. A lot of things are only fifty cents cheaper than normal retail. If you want better service it might be worth paying more elsewhere. That said, the variety is entertaining and they stock toys for kids. Aisles are messy and cramped though, only one cart fits at a time, especially in the food section.
Found maybe a couple good deals, like organic soap bars for $12 for a bunch, but honestly most prices matched what Walmart charges. This location has the same issue as the one in Kirksville with staffing. Five employees just chatting by the registers while one person was actually ringing people up and several registers sat empty. We didn't get acknowledged until a second register opened up.
Went to the location on Celanese Road in Rock Hill. Waiting in line and the cashier called for backup. Another employee kept saying people could wait and wouldn't help. Super rude when she finally did and it was clear she wasn't happy about it. Won't use her line again. Walmart is right down the street anyway.
