What Shoppers Say About Oreillyauto
O'Reilly Auto shoppers report a stark divide in experiences. Positive reviews consistently praise individual employees and locations for exceptional customer service, product knowledge, and willingness to go above and beyond, with shoppers highlighting fast service and professional assistance with vehicle maintenance and part selection. However, negative reviews cite serious concerns including poor product quality (defective compressors and calipers requiring replacements), unsafe store conditions (unmarked leaky oil, hazardous stock piles), lack of staff availability, and unprofessional management conduct at some locations.
The 15 reviews on RetailCoupons.com show 2.9 out of 5 stars, reflecting a polarized rating distribution where roughly half of shoppers gave one star and half gave five stars. The variation suggests that customer experience depends heavily on which location is visited and which staff members are encountered, with product reliability and store maintenance appearing to be recurring pain points for dissatisfied customers.

Sorted by: Most recentAbsolutely the worst O'Reilly location I've ever visited. The store was a complete mess with no staff around to help customers. Found the manager outside the building away from the store, unattended and unprofessional. The sales floor was dangerous with stock piled up in carts, leaky oil cases left unmarked all over the floor creating hazardous wet spots, and unopened boxes of antifreeze sitting everywhere. Zero safety warnings or caution signs visible. Nobody working inside could assist you, and phone calls went unanswered the whole time I was there. When I tried calling corporate twice to report these issues, I was hung up on both times. This location is completely unsafe and unprofessional. Stay away at all costs.
The parts I bought from O'Reilly were terrible. Got an AC compressor that failed right after I installed it, so I swapped it for another one and that one stopped working too after a couple months. Then I bought a brake caliper and had to replace it twice before giving up. I ended up spending the extra cash on genuine parts instead because honestly, most auto parts retailers sell garbage and O'Reilly's is right there at the top of that list. Don't waste your money on their stuff.
Greg at the location in South Dakota was super helpful and really knew his stuff. Got my battery tested and swapped out quickly without any hassle. Really appreciate the fast service!
The team at this location in Colorado is genuinely fantastic! Professional, friendly, super knowledgeable, and always willing to go the extra mile. My husband and I aren't mechanics, so we often need help figuring out which parts we need and what our options are when something breaks down on our vehicles. This O'Reilly's crew has repeatedly helped us save money and track down hard-to-find parts. One time our old bus broke down and we had no idea what part we needed, but their staff member spent real time helping us locate it even though O'Reilly's didn't have it in stock. They pointed us to two other places where we could get it without hesitation. Another time our vehicle went down in their parking lot and they ordered our parts and let us use their space to fix it right there. Couldn't ask for better service.
My battery light came on while driving to work, so I stopped by the O'Reilly location where I'd originally bought the battery. Matthew provided outstanding service and was extremely professional. He really went the distance to make sure my car would get me where I needed to go safely. He's clearly a valuable member of the team and deserves recognition for his work. Very satisfied customer here.
Service from every single person at this location is top notch, whether they're at the register or anywhere else in the store. Nothing is too much trouble and everyone goes out of their way to help. Even visiting on a holiday, they kept working hard and stayed positive. This is the kind of standard all businesses should aim for.
Placed an online order and picked it up at this location. I got six cans of tire spray but two of them showed up without caps. When I asked about it, the staff said that's just how it comes. That's not right. The cans looked used and there's no way to store them properly without lids. Definitely not acceptable.
They should clean house at this location in Oklahoma. I've been shopping there for about twenty years without any issues, but today I returned a part I'd bought earlier and they made me feel like I was committing a crime. Getting my refund took nearly an hour. I'm done with them and I'm telling everyone I know to shop elsewhere.
If you want zero knowledge about cars when you walk in, this is your place. Honestly, run the other direction as fast as you can. This location is a joke and a poor excuse for an auto parts store. You're paying too much money for parts that aren't worth buying and the staff has no idea what they're doing. The quality is low and the service is even worse. If garbage service is what you're after, then sure, come here.
My battery failed just six days before the three year warranty ran out and it became a whole ordeal. Apparently each store has different policies, at least that's what the manager at my local store told me. I took the battery to a competitor and they tested it and confirmed it was dead with a bad cell. I ended up spending nearly three hundred dollars out of pocket when I shouldn't have had to. Their warranty coverage isn't reliable and could end up costing you a lot of money. I posted the full details of my complaint to the Better Business Bureau if you want more information.
