What Shoppers Say About Peter Pan Bus Lines
Peter Pan Bus Lines receives overwhelmingly negative feedback from shoppers, with 1.5 out of 5 stars from 13 reviews. The most serious and recurring complaints involve frequent delays and buses failing to show up, hidden fees that increase the final ticket price beyond what appears at checkout, and poor customer service including rigid policies and unhelpful staff interactions. Long-time customers report these issues as chronic problems spanning years. A small number of reviewers praised the company's friendly drivers, reasonable base pricing, and comfortable seating, though these positives are vastly outweighed by operational and service failures.
Key grievances include facility charges and hidden fees that make tickets more expensive than advertised, buses arriving significantly late or not arriving at all (particularly during bad weather), inflexible policies that charge fees for minor changes like switching to an earlier available bus, and difficulties with recent transitions affecting ticket exchanges. Shoppers express frustration that refunds are difficult to obtain and that the company does not make exceptions for long-time customers or challenging circumstances.

Sorted by: Most recentI'm a writer who reviews businesses, and this one bothers me enough to mention it. The no-refund policy is frustrating. There have been times I've missed connecting buses because my first one got stuck in traffic, which doesn't seem right. One driver mentioned calling customer service about refunds, but who has time for that? Here's a tip: if you're booking multiple buses, buy them as separate tickets rather than all at once. The no-refund stance definitely keeps me from using them. Also, their app needs work. When I search for trips and see times listed, it's annoying to go back and pick a different date without completely restarting the app every time.
Don't take this bus line if you want to keep your belongings safe. I rode Peter Pan from Providence to New York and on the way back the driver forced me to put my bag underneath the bus even though I wanted to carry it on. The bus had two stops scheduled and mine was the second one. Because of traffic the driver skipped the regular stop and dropped people at a local landmark where a crowd was exiting an event. He pulled my bag from under the bus and just left it sitting on the sidewalk without even checking if it belonged to someone. He was in a hurry so he jumped back on and took off, leaving my bag abandoned on a busy city street. When we reached my actual stop, he took no responsibility and didn't apologize. He basically shrugged and said it wasn't his problem, even though he's the one who unloaded it. I'm never traveling with them again and neither should you if you care about your stuff.
My niece was throwing a baby shower and we all needed to travel together. My sister charged the bus tickets on her card so everyone could be on the same bus. The event got canceled due to pandemic restrictions in our area. When we requested a refund, Peter Pan refused. Instead they're giving us credit toward future tickets, which doesn't help my sister who's a single parent and really needs that money back on her card. This wasn't something anyone could control, yet they wouldn't show any flexibility.
