Rabbit Air Reviews
What Shoppers Say About Rabbit Air
Rabbit Air earns polarized feedback, with shoppers deeply divided on their products and service. Those giving five-star ratings consistently praise the company's customer service responsiveness and willingness to resolve issues generously, including replacing damaged units and investigating missing orders without hassle. Long-term owners report exceptional durability from older models still operating reliably after more than a decade. However, the 8 reviewers giving one or three stars cite recurring problems: replacement filters that emit chemical odors during off-gassing, rattling sounds from units, and pricing that shoppers feel has risen faster than inflation. One reviewer also expressed concern about the company's policy of offering refurbished replacements for defective units rather than new ones.
The gap between positive and negative reviews reflects fundamentally different experiences. Supporters value the post-purchase support and product longevity they've experienced. Detractors, by contrast, focus on product quality issues at premium price points and perceive the company as prioritizing profit margins over customer satisfaction. Some negative reviewers mention receiving generic support responses despite providing detailed documentation of problems, suggesting inconsistency in how the company handles complaints.

Sorted by: Most recentI own an A2 and honestly, at this price point you'd hope things would work flawlessly. But there's always something going on with replacement filters. First I dealt with a rattling sound, and now when I swap in a fresh filter, the whole thing smells like chemicals as it off gasses. If you look it up, this isn't just my batch having trouble. My Alen unit doesn't have any of these problems, and their company actually backs what they sell.
Really excellent and quick-responding customer service team. I grabbed two replacement filter sets this summer for an older air purifier model through Amazon, but they didn't show up on my porch when they should have. Amazon told me to reach out to Rabbit Air directly. Once I contacted them, they dug into it and discovered the delivery person had actually dropped the box off at my back door, which honestly never happens to me in over 40 years here. I got several messages from Rabbit Air over the next few days while we tracked things down. The staff jumped on it fast, gave me solid help, and stayed patient while I figured out the filters were already there. Overall, my whole experience with Rabbit Air turned out really great.
We worked with a rep who went above and beyond when we mentioned our air purifier had a scratch on the front panel. He shipped us a replacement at no charge. What really stands out is that Rabbit Air doesn't just make quality products, they actually take care of customers after you've made your purchase.
Really sad to see a company choose to maximize profits this way. The price bumps over the last couple years have been way steeper than what inflation actually is, and I know plenty of others who bailed for the same reason. Getting cookie-cutter responses when I take time to contact their support team is just insulting. The company seems to really penalize Canadian shoppers especially, and I'd much rather spend my money somewhere that genuinely values customer loyalty and delivers real support. Comparing filters breaks it down clearly for me. A Rabbit Air filter costs about $172.50 yearly with shipping and tax. An Austin Air filter is roughly $85 per year when you do the math. That math tells me everything I need to know. Switching to Austin Air for good.
I've had a pair of Bio GS Classic units running since early 2011 and they're both still going strong 24/7, one upstairs and one downstairs in my home with a dog and two cats. Never had a single issue with either one. Back in late 2022, I ordered and paid for two HEPA filters like I'd done before, but only got one in my shipment. I emailed support and had the second filter in hand within two weeks, no hassle at all. You really can't beat service like that. Really grateful.
I submitted video proof that my unit was defective and not even a year old. Rabbit Air's response was limited to fixing it or sending me a replacement that's been opened, gently used, or returned by someone else in the last 90 days. They mentioned the used unit would be cleaned thoroughly, but that doesn't sit right with me. Hygiene is a real concern when it comes to something that might have been running in a smoker's house for months. I can't accept that. It's disappointing that Rabbit Air won't actually stand behind their warranty. When you file a claim, you should get a brand new unit, not repair or secondhand options. Really not satisfied.
Overall not great. Their support team does reply quickly, but the whole experience has been rough. I ordered their basic model and it showed up ten days later. They actually upgraded me to a nicer unit, which was awesome. But after I got everything set up, a blue light started flashing and support said they'd ship another one while a driver would grab the broken unit. The replacement came after nearly two weeks, but the UPS driver never bothered to knock or pickup the old machine even though I waited around all day. The new unit they sent was actually downgraded back to what I originally bought, and it didn't look pristine either, with marks on the buttons and a charcoal filter that seems to be seeping slightly. At least it runs, though I'm still waiting on that UPS pickup.
Needed replacement filters for a couple of air purifiers sitting in storage for years. Rabbit Air's site had exactly what I was looking for, plus clear guides on how to swap out the filters. The whole process was smooth from order to delivery, and the instructions were super straightforward. Now my units are working great again, even after spending five years up in the attic. Really impressed with this brand and definitely worth checking out if you're in the market.
