What Shoppers Say About Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon Series
Rock 'n' Roll Marathon Series is rated 1.0 out of 5 by 7 shoppers, with all reviews giving the lowest possible rating. Shoppers report severe issues with customer service responsiveness, citing non-functional contact forms, unanswered emails and Facebook messages, and difficulty reaching support staff. The primary complaint centers on refund policies and how the company has handled race cancellations and rescheduling: customers report paying entry fees for specific events that were cancelled or moved, then being offered credits for future races on short notice, often with inadequate time to make travel arrangements. Several reviewers mention waiting years for resolution without receiving refunds.
Shoppers express frustration over what they perceive as the company prioritizing revenue collection while neglecting customer service and accountability. Multiple reviewers mention attempting to file complaints through formal channels like the Better Business Bureau. One reviewer noted enjoying a past event but felt let down by the company's handling of subsequent cancellations. The consistent theme across all reviews is dissatisfaction with the combination of unresponsive support, inflexible refund policies, and repeated race rescheduling that left customers unable or unwilling to participate in replacement events.

Trying to get help from R&R customer support is absolutely pointless. As long as the money keeps coming in, they clearly don't care about much else. Good luck getting responses through Facebook, email, or their website. I registered for their San Diego event through another site and my connecting flight got cancelled out of Phoenix. Sent them a support message and never got a reply, which honestly tracks with everything else I've heard. The race itself wasn't terrible, but their customer support is just awful across the board. I've filed complaints with the Better Business Bureau and my state attorney general looking for some kind of answers. Bottom line: it's all about the money for them, nothing else matters. Pick your next race event with that in mind.
Enjoyed the Las Vegas event back in 2019, so I signed up early for the 2020 race. That obviously fell through. When they finally emailed us in late 2021, they said we could use our registration credit toward February 2022. Living in Canada with COVID travel limits made booking a trip on such short notice impossible. I reached out asking about other options like they suggested, but never heard back. When I contacted them this week about switching to February 2024, they told me my race was already used. I explained that I'd tried to work something out and they never replied. Their answer? Nothing can be done. They've been holding onto my $170 since 2019 with nothing to show for it. Looking into small claims court now.
I wish I could rate this lower than one star because it's honestly not deserved. Looking at other reviews here makes the pattern crystal clear. The business model is straightforward: grab huge sums from tons of people who want to race on a specific date in a particular city. Then sit on all that money from thousands of disappointed customers for extended periods, sometimes years. They either cancel races whenever they feel like it or simply won't hold events, and they completely refuse to give refunds for services never delivered. What's their solution? Race somewhere completely different, maybe thousands of miles away, in a different year, assuming you're still around. Or just accept their dismissal. They operate without real consequences and nobody's stopping them. I've filed a complaint with the FTC and I'm not letting this go. This operation has been robbing people blind for far too long. Do yourself a favor and stay far away from this outfit.
I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau to try getting my money back. It's shocking that such a big race company won't refund entry fees when they cancel races or move them around. My original race was cancelled, and the replacement event got rescheduled over and over. Three years have gone by now and I'm done. I don't want to run it anymore and I definitely don't want them keeping my cash. Smaller race companies are handling refunds just fine.
Paid for a marathon and they basically took my money. I've tried reaching out in every possible way and still get nothing. Wouldn't suggest doing business with them.
Can you even do negative stars? I used to be a devoted RnR customer, but now I'm just trying to get my full refund for a race they cancelled that I paid for upfront. Over the last year and a half, I've reached out more than 79 different times using various ways to contact them. Still nothing. Every other major event organizer worldwide has given full refunds when cancelling. RnR really should do the same. This situation has been incredibly stressful for my household, particularly given everything happening with COVID and just trying to cover basic living costs.
