Still, the back has heavy corrosion, the coating is peeling away, and one of the structural feet actually broke off. I reached out to support and they said this is normal and compared it to regular wear on a car. They wouldn't escalate the issue. I get that things age, but I didn't expect to see internal rust damage result in visible exterior problems and actual pieces falling off, especially when the safe was properly maintained. Posting this to give others a heads up and hoping the company takes a closer look at what's happening here.
These are basically no different than Masterlock. Overpriced garbage that doesn't hold up and you get zero customer service to back it up.
Bought the $403 model from a local retailer, 130 pounds, 2 cubic foot capacity. Took my son with me to pick it up, drove 15 miles home, and got it inside with a dolly. Got brand new Duracell batteries in there and immediately noticed the handle was extremely stiff. The locking bars wouldn't catch. Called technical support and that's all they asked about the batteries. I said I literally just bought them brand new from the store. He kept saying batteries are 90 percent of it, so even though the lights worked fine and the batteries were brand new Duracells, he blamed the batteries. Told me to return it. Four hundred dollars for a safe and it doesn't even open. This isn't complicated equipment. Pretty frustrating that customer service has such a one-track mind on this.
Had nothing but problems getting this thing to open. Customer support was terrible. The unit is glitchy and has been a complete hassle. At this point they should pay me to take it off their hands. Had to call a locksmith because Sentry Safe won't replace the defective unit. Honestly never seen anything this unreliable in my entire life.
Would give this less than one star if I could. I own the FHW-40100 model. One day I went to open it and the button stopped working. The safe is now completely locked. It was in perfect condition and kept in a temperature-controlled, dry room. It's not like it gets heavy use either. I called Sentry and they basically said too bad, force it open yourself. They won't fix it or send a replacement because we're past the one-year mark. Both the product and the company's response have been disappointing.
Paid over $800 for this safe and when it showed up, the battery compartment was missing. It's been sitting unused ever since. Called multiple times and sent several emails with no real help. No one's even told me if they plan to send the cheap battery case or not. To actually use it, I'd have to drive nearly 90 miles round trip to get a battery holder and wire it myself. This was supposed to be a quality purchase but the support has been completely absent. I wish I'd chosen something different. Can't fairly rate a safe I haven't even been able to use yet.
We opened this safe a few times and then got stuck. They told us to change the batteries so we did, many times over. Tried fresh Duracell alkalines that don't expire until 2034. Didn't help. Then they said to hit it with a hammer or rubber mallet, which just dented the whole thing. I need to get my stuff out right away so I had to hire a locksmith to break into it. This safe is barely over a year old.
Just submitted the form to get my factory reset code. Hoping they send me something that actually works, unlike some of the codes floating around. Want to confirm whether what they're giving me is the right one or not. Thanks for any info.

You can create an account online after registering your safe, which lets you look up your code or combination if you ever forget. While we haven't needed to put it to the test yet thankfully, we feel confident that it would protect our important documents and belongings if something unexpected happened.
I bought a Sentry Safe and couldn't get it to open from day one. Called within a couple weeks and they wouldn't help. The door just wouldn't budge. That's obviously a manufacturing problem right there. I was shocked at how they treated me about it. For over eighty dollars I expected a lot better.
