What Shoppers Say About simplyearth.com
Simply Earth receives sharply divided feedback, with shoppers either highly satisfied or deeply frustrated. Positive reviewers praise the product quality, particularly the essential oils used in homemade products, and commend the flexibility of the subscription service, including easy shipping date adjustments and reliable delivery. However, a significant portion of reviewers report serious problems: misleading advertising about what items are included in boxes, unexpected duplicate charges and billing errors, unresponsive customer support (slow email responses, dropped phone calls, unanswered inquiries), and checkout glitches that still result in PayPal charges. Several shoppers also note issues with the company's recent switch to a new shipping carrier, which has resulted in lost packages and unhelpful support responses.
The polarized rating distribution suggests Simply Earth struggles with consistency in both product fulfillment and customer service. While long-term customers who have had smooth experiences remain loyal, newer or recent customers frequently encounter billing problems and support failures that leave them frustrated and uncompensated despite claims of eventual refunds.

Sorted by: Most recentDecided to try this out and see what all the buzz was about. Turns out the box doesn't actually come with everything like they advertise. You need to grab jars, soap dispensers, and other supplies from home. Their claim about no store trip necessary was misleading. The big bonus box was underwhelming compared to what they promised. I was told my next shipment would go out the following month, but they charged me the very next day for a box I didn't ask for. When I reached out to fix it, support wasn't available, and my order shipped anyway. I'd skip this and just buy the oils separately, then look up instructions on YouTube. You'll spend way less money that way.
This was supposed to be my monthly box subscription. I ordered my first one to test things out. The very next day, I got charged again even though they said my next payment wouldn't happen for a month. I immediately called but they weren't open, so I sent an email instead. Still nothing. The next day I called again and the call kept dropping. I emailed once more. Finally, I heard back and they said their phone lines were down. By that point my box was already out for delivery and I'm stuck with a fifty dollar box I didn't want and didn't ask for.
I just started my first subscription box and the response time from their support team has been quite slow.
UPDATE: I eventually did get my money back, but they never answered any of my emails or returned my phone calls. I tried to place an order on their website but something glitched in the checkout process and my order didn't go through. My PayPal account got charged though. To add to it, they kept sending me emails asking me to complete my purchase. I didn't want to end up being charged twice so I reached out via email three different times and called and left voicemails, but I only got auto-responses. As someone who runs a small business, I understand how critical it is to handle customer issues quickly. Even though I do like what they sell, I can't see myself ordering from them again after this mess.
I've been ordering from this company regularly since 2020 and really enjoyed their products. I use their essential oils in items I make and sell at my own business. Everything was great until they switched shipping companies from USPS to Gofo. My September box never showed up, and when I contacted support about it, they basically told me to deal with it myself and contact the carrier. Gofo said they couldn't deliver it, but I ended up having to do all the work tracking it down. The worst part is my subscription got canceled without my permission because the issue wasn't resolved. Since I rely on these products for work, this whole situation has been really upsetting. After years of getting my orders reliably, having to hunt down packages myself is not acceptable. The products themselves are still good, but I'm hoping management takes a hard look at who they're using to ship orders and how they handle customer problems.
Been getting monthly deliveries since early in the year and I'm really happy with it so far. I'm living in an RV and I've been able to change my shipping date without any hassle. Even when I've moved with my RV, my boxes keep showing up without problems. It would be nice if they had their own app because I'm getting older and I struggle finding things on their website sometimes. An app would make a big difference for me. Every time I go on there, it feels like I have to learn the system all over again. They do have videos on Facebook and YouTube that help out. The team has been patient and understanding when I ask for help, and I really appreciate that they don't make me feel bad about asking. There's honestly so much value in what they offer, and everyone I've talked to has been friendly and professional. I absolutely love how good their products are, they smell amazing, and they actually do what they're supposed to do. I'm getting more confident and I've already made some roll-ons for my son and myself. I'm planning to start making soaps, hair products, candles, and deodorants. Now that I'm retired, I'm learning about all the ways essential oils can help with daily life. Thanks so much!
This company has worked out really well for me for more than a year. I tested out a few other places but stopped because they were pricey or didn't give me the information I needed. Simply Earth shares tons of info and I look forward to my box every month. You get the essentials to start, and then you go from there. One thing I really appreciate is that every oil comes with a downloadable testing report that shows exactly what's in it. That's really important to me since I have some sensitivities, and other people in my family do too. When I reach out with a question, their team gets back to me fast and actually helps. Whether I'm looking for a specific item or just need an answer, they make sure I have options. The recipe choices are endless. They give you articles, videos, and forms to download to help you pick the right items. Appreciate you, Simply Earth.
I'm warning people to stay away from this company. I fell for their course and big box offer, so I decided to give them a shot instead of going with another brand. I got my oils delivered, but then I found out I owed an extra 30 percent on top of what I already paid. It turned out to be some kind of tax through a company called COD. I called the company and they basically said there's nothing they can do about it since import taxes are my responsibility. I'm aware that Canadian import fees are 13 percent, but that doesn't change the fact that they got their money already. I'm asking others to really think twice before ordering here. Look into DoTerra, Revive, or Plant Therapy instead because they're worth trusting.
I got my mom one of their recipe boxes as a gift, and she also received a bonus box since she was new. That bonus box is honestly the only reason we didn't regret this. If we had signed up for the regular monthly subscription without that bonus, we would have been really upset. Forty-eight dollars for four oils, a tiny bit of cocoa butter, a small amount of wax, and a lip gloss roller when there aren't even any containers included felt like a bad deal. The oils were also super hard to open. Both my mom and I have already canceled our subscriptions. There are tons of other places to buy natural products from. The starter package came with that free bonus box that had the necessary supplies, which saved the experience. We were both really looking forward to getting this, but it was such a disappointment.
UPDATE: I need to clarify this is not for simplyearth.com but a completely different website. I placed an order from a site and my payment went through, but the items never arrived. I tried calling customer service and only got a voicemail system. I also sent four separate emails and never got any kind of response. They had no problem charging my credit card though. I had to get my credit card company involved to reverse the charge because I couldn't reach anyone at the company. This whole experience was frustrating and left me stranded without any way to resolve it.
