What Shoppers Say About Stonewallkitchen
Stonewall Kitchen is rated 2.0 out of 5 by 25 shoppers, with responses split sharply between satisfied and dissatisfied customers. Those who had positive experiences report that orders arrived complete, products were fresh, and they felt pleased enough to return. However, the majority of reviewers cite significant issues: expired products shipped to customers, a lack of clear return or replacement policy, unresponsive or dismissive customer service, and refusals to address problems even when shoppers provide evidence of defects or quality issues.
Recurring complaints center on customer service responsiveness, particularly around coupon code problems and expired inventory. Reviewers describe the company as unwilling to make exceptions or properly escalate complaints, with some characterizing interactions as dismissive and unprofessional. Several shoppers note that the company does not appear to have a published return policy, leaving customers without recourse when products arrive expired or spoil shortly after purchase. A small group of satisfied customers did receive their orders in good condition, suggesting inconsistent quality control or inventory management rather than a universal product problem.

Sorted by: Most recentI got a two-pack of the Waffle and Pancake Mix and it was amazing, we loved it. But when I opened the second one, there were bugs throughout the whole thing. We threw it out right away. The expiration date said October 23, 2025 and we opened it November 17, 2024, so it was definitely still good. I called them on the morning of the 18th and they said without the container showing the date they couldn't replace it because they'd need to investigate. This is my first problem with them in years and I've always found their stuff fresh and tasty. I've ordered lots of packages for family and friends as gifts for holidays and other occasions and everyone loved them and started buying too. I'm really let down by how they handled this. I won't be ordering from them anymore and I'm telling other family and friends about what happened.
BE CAREFUL WITH EXPIRATION DATES! I placed a big order of butters and jams as holiday gifts and got them September 5th. When I finally opened them on October 31st, I was shocked to see nine items had expiration dates ranging from November 11 to December 3. I called customer service and they basically said I had 30 days to check the dates and refused to let me return anything. That's just not acceptable. I can't check expiration dates before buying and I don't feel confident the products will actually be fresh. Really disappointing and I won't be ordering directly from them again.
Ordered the seedless raspberry jam and it's disappointing. It basically looks like jelly and tastes like pure sugar, which is pretty much all that's in it. Won't be ordering from them again.
Before January 2024, I noticed my applesauce order quality had really dropped off. It had gotten so watery and thin that I was looking for other brands. In January they announced a voluntary recall on this product. I sent proof of my purchase and was told I'd get a refund on January 31st. After that I kept getting more back and forth and new dates that didn't work out, then today on April 17th they said the refund would go out April 18th. We'll see. Well, it showed up April 24th, almost three months after they first promised it. But at least it finally came.
Got mold in the refrigerator after just two weeks. I'd recommend buying their products from Costco instead.
Unbelievably rude customer service and really slow shipping. I placed an order four days ago with zero shipping notification. I called to ask where it was and the rep actually yelled at me that their policy is seven to ten business days to get items to you. This info wasn't anywhere on my confirmation and I was just asking for a status update. Most major companies ship seven days a week now and my order from October 15th with paid shipping probably won't arrive in New England until October 27th. The rep actually raised his voice and told me I should've read their policy and done the math myself. Hopefully that was a recorded call so management can hear it. This company used to be a solid local business before being bought out. This is my last order from them.
Absolutely terrible customer service. Their website has issues and when you go to complete your purchase, you sometimes don't get a confirmation screen showing it went through. They underfill orders, say they'll credit you, but you never see a confirmation email about it. When you call they tell you to check your credit card statement. Seriously? How bad does this need to get?
Stonewall acquired Vermont Coffee and now won't honor the bag tags I've been collecting for four years. I had no clue the company was bought and had no idea Stonewall needed such fast money that they'd cut out loyalty benefits and lose customers over it. I'm done supporting them.
Saw an amazing deal on my favorite jam and grabbed 8 jars. The fine print mentioned the discount could mean discontinued items or shorter shelf life. I get it. But when I got them they expire in under thirty days. I expected shorter life but not literally a month! They basically told me too bad when I contacted them. I wasn't asking for my money back, though that would've been nice customer service. I just hoped for some kind of discount code to use next time. Lessons learned. There are tons of good options out there. Stonewall lost me as a customer. Seven jars went straight in the trash.
Not worth what they charge. I've worked there and seen behind the curtain. Some products are okay but they've been swapping ingredients for cheaper stuff lately. We've let rust contaminate multiple jam batches. Charcoal got into sauce products too. Not a dealbreaker probably but still gross when a company preaches quality. If you ever think about working for them, don't. You might get fired on the spot, work years with no raises, and if you do get one it's only fifty cents. HR spreads gossip instead of keeping things private. Management doesn't communicate or care about staff. We had an employee pass away and they treated it like any other day, posting job openings on the same afternoon. Maybe that happens everywhere but they call themselves a family and local business while selling out to big corporations multiple times. They keep buying other companies to make money but our overpriced stuff isn't moving. That's probably why they'd fire you right off.
