What Shoppers Say About Universal Orlando Resort
Universal Orlando Resort receives sharply divided feedback, with shoppers either highly satisfied or deeply disappointed. The one-third of reviewers who rate the resort highly appreciate what the parks offer, but the majority of recent reviews highlight serious operational and service problems. Common complaints center on overcrowding that makes movement and enjoyment difficult, frequent ride breakdowns, high costs (particularly for add-on services like drink refills and parking), poor staff service, and inadequate allergy accommodations despite advance medical requests. One reviewer noted that even after submitting detailed medical paperwork for life-threatening dairy and peanut allergies, no restaurants had allergy menus available on site.
Beyond ride and dining issues, guests report problems with hotel experiences, confusing policies around digital ticketing, and a general sense that the resort feels poorly managed compared to competing attractions. The pricing structure draws particular criticism, with reviewers noting premium charges for everyday conveniences. However, the 2.7 out of 5 rating given by 18 shoppers masks a polarized experience: a smaller group remains enthusiastic, while a larger share finds the combination of cost, crowds, and service standards difficult to justify.

Sorted by: Most recentMy brand new 300-pound wheelchair failed inside the park yesterday. I ended up having to drag the broken chair out of the Harry Potter area by sliding on my rear and pulling it along the ground. Later, I tried using my original ECV scooter to bring my 7-year-old back inside for her birthday. They made me park it in the stroller area, and a staff member positioned herself across the walking path watching me crawl toward her just so I could get my daughter on a ride. I fell trying to board and had to go to first aid for bandages and ice. When I got there, I struggled forever trying to open the first aid door in the guest services office without anyone offering assistance. I shouldn't have to say this, but Universal Orlando simply isn't safe or accessible for people with significant physical disabilities. This was my first visit and unfortunately it'll be my last. I came as a disabled veteran with two kids who left heartbroken. Don't come if you depend on accessibility accommodations.
I've been trying for three weeks to book a premier hotel with park tickets at Universal Orlando. They claimed to have website issues, but I'm pretty convinced it was deliberate. When I asked for booking help, the agent just kept pushing add-ons. The price she quoted was several hundred dollars higher than what showed online. She snuck trip protection in without telling me, and only revealed the full breakdown when I made her itemize everything. When I pressed her on hotel costs, she said she couldn't see those numbers, only ticket prices. Honestly, I'm heading to Disney instead.
Every single visit here is fantastic with the family. This place stands out as the ultimate weekend destination where you can have the kind of fun you just can't get anywhere else. The staff really makes the whole experience special with their great service.
The customer service really came through for us. We had reservations set for late 2020 but got nervous about pandemic safety and decided to cancel. They processed a full refund within two days without even keeping the deposit that so many other places hold onto. Huge thanks to Universal, and we're looking forward to returning soon.
We had a wonderful time exploring the Harry Potter area. The resort is seriously massive and we were walking constantly, but it was genuinely enjoyable. We grabbed lunch near the Hulk and rode that coaster afterward. The Minions ride was pretty entertaining too.
Had another great time during the holidays, marking our second trip in two years. With kids aged 11, 9, 6, and 3, everyone found rides they could enjoy. The whole experience is solid from the moment you hit the parking area. If you've done Disney, you know that feeling of walking back to your car after a long, hot day and finding it sitting in direct sun all afternoon, burning to the touch. Universal's covered parking with fans throughout is a game changer. Security is quick and straightforward too. City Walk opens up nicely between the two parks with shops and dining options on either side. Both parks deliver amazing attractions. A few pro tips: Buy the refill cups but share them smartly. We got three for our group of six. When eating in the parks, specifically ask about kids' prices since they're not advertised but definitely exist. Also, grab a kids' meal instead of an adult one at burger places because they're half the price and it's literally the same food.
