I purchased a pair of suede MBTs that weren't cheap, and I barely wore them before problems started. When I first put them on, the soles immediately started falling apart. It's clear these shoes have seen almost no actual use and shouldn't be falling apart like this.

Paid a lot of money for shoes that fell apart way too quickly. The heel padding literally crumbled and came off, making the shoes completely unwearable. They offered me a 30% discount to buy a replacement pair, but I'm not interested - a company that won't stand behind defective products doesn't deserve my business. At this price point, I expect much better durability. I have other shoes from different brands that are years old and still holding up fine. Before buying, people should understand that the soft, porous material used in their sensor technology is delicate and needs specific care. It can break down faster depending on how you use it and your environment (humidity can be a factor), and in worst cases particles can get inside and damage the sensor. Also, like other polymer materials, the cushioning system works best with regular use and can actually wear out faster if the shoes sit unused for extended periods.

These shoes are nothing like the original Swiss MBTs that people remember. Multiple reviewers have mentioned the same issue: the cushioning breaks down after about half a year of regular use. Customer service is basically nonexistent - I sent two emails with no response, and when I finally got through on the phone, I was hung up on repeatedly before reaching someone who informed me they won't do exchanges. Their return process is unclear too, and they stick you with all the responsibility if something gets lost during shipping. The only positive thing I can say is that their shipping and handling were quick and professional. It's unfortunate because MBT is practically the only company making rocker-bottom shoes that people with foot and ankle problems actually need. The company may have bought the MBT brand name, but they're selling inferior shoes with terrible support. The original Swiss company did it right. Pro tip: only buy during Black Friday or Cyber Monday sales or you're paying way too much for the quality you'll get.
