What Shoppers Say About Mattel
Mattel's direct-to-consumer site has received overwhelmingly negative feedback, rated 1.4 out of 5 by 5 shoppers. The primary complaints center on order fulfillment issues, including wrong items being shipped, products disappearing from carts during checkout, and difficulty obtaining limited-edition releases like the 80th anniversary Hot Wheels collection. Some collectors have expressed dissatisfaction with product design decisions, particularly regarding changes to classic Barbie collectibles. On the positive side, one reviewer noted that packaging quality is secure and items arrive without damage.
Shoppers report frustration with the overall experience and have indicated they are switching to alternative retailers. The site appears to struggle with inventory management and checkout processes for popular items, leaving customers disappointed, particularly those purchasing gifts for family members or pursuing specific collectibles.

Sorted by: Most recentWrong doll showed up at my door. Ordered a girl Barbie but received the male version instead. Didn't feel like dealing with the hassle of sending it back, so I just kept it. Pretty frustrating overall. On the bright side, the packaging was secure and nothing arrived damaged.
This is my second terrible experience with this brand and I'm officially over it. The recent RWB release was the final thing that pushed me away. I'm moving on to a different company that actually values and appreciates its fan base. It's sad because if you look on resale platforms you can spot tons of people flipping multiple copies of what should have been limited to two per member. This kind of thing is chipping away at the brand's credibility and wrecking what used to be a great community.
I was waiting for the 80th anniversary Hot Wheels collection to drop and managed to grab one right away. Got it in my cart and rushed to checkout, but then it just disappeared from my order before I could even complete the purchase. My 12 year old grandson collects Hot Wheels and he was really pumped about this set. Unfortunately it didn't work out because Mattel seemed to let the item slip away so it could end up with resellers marking up the price two or three times over. That was a real letdown and honestly felt wrong.
I'm really bothered by the decision to redesign the holiday Barbie with a flatter chest. For us longtime collectors, this doesn't cut it. They should offer an adult collector version of the holiday Barbie that keeps the classic proportions at the same price point. I got the 2024 holiday release for my birthday and felt let down by the body design. Even with all the nice decorations included in the box, it doesn't make up for the change to the doll itself and takes attention away from the beautiful outfit.
Not sure if I'm even reviewing the right website, but I need to warn people about these casual gaming apps. Skip-Bo and Phase 10 are a total waste of your time and money. The games aren't actually random like they should be. They're programmed so you keep losing. Think about it, nobody loses twenty matches in a row unless something's rigged. Save yourself the frustration and avoid these games completely.
