You can't even pick the plan you want at signup, you're forced into a pricier tier and then have to figure out their confusing system to step down to what you actually need. Canceling means clicking through about 5 different confirmation screens and re-entering your admin email, which honestly feels deliberately annoying. I backed out before even becoming a paying customer. Definitely steer clear.
Way overpriced. Just to have two email addresses you're looking at 12 dollars monthly. It's an absolute ripoff.
I've helped my clients get email set up through Google Workspace for years, but recently they changed it so you're forced into an expensive 40 dollar per month premium plan at signup, then you have to go back after and switch to something cheaper. One of my clients ended up locked into an annual plan at 40 a month even though they don't need that kind of setup at all. I've tried talking to their support and nothing happened. I even filed a complaint through proper channels and still got nowhere. I'm moving my business and all my clients away from Google Drive and Workspace for good.
Awful support team. A simple problem turned into weeks of back and forth through chats and emails with their support staff trying to close my ticket even though nothing was fixed. They scheduled two phone calls that they simply never showed up for. It's the worst customer service I've experienced from any online company. Don't sign up for this, it's just not good.

Google markets Workspace as critical business infrastructure, so we expected a more responsive solution when dealing with rogue administrators and company transitions.
I'm really frustrated and let down with my experience here. Something that should've been straightforward, just setting up a single email and calendar for my solo business, became an overly complicated and confusing mess that took hours and made me incredibly frustrated. The setup process isn't built for solo operators. It's designed assuming you have a company structure, multiple staff, and corporate-level know-how, but nothing gets explained clearly. I ran into several major problems: being made to set up multiple accounts without good reason, confusion about what counts as my admin versus my business email, password rules that weren't mentioned upfront, licensing that's impossible to manage during the test period, a test mode that won't let you make changes even though you haven't paid yet, and hidden options for downgrading or canceling that seem intentionally hard to find. Multiple times the system blocked me from going forward without helpful direction. This isn't acceptable for something you're paying for. The end result: instead of feeling helped as a customer.
Straight up scam. They have absolutely no real customer service. Once you sign up you're trapped with no way out. Run away!
Don't waste your time with Google Workspace. They advertise a voice over IP feature for running your business and claim you can test it free, but this is completely misleading. We needed a VOIP solution so I followed their support team's instructions exactly. The whole setup process took much longer than expected and went way past the trial period, so they refused to refund over 500 dollars since they force you into their most expensive Enterprise plan. The service doesn't actually work properly and the configuration is so time-consuming you get stuck having to pay massive fees to leave. They deserve a hefty fine from EU regulators for false advertising and unfair treatment of customers trying to use their service honestly. Just pick a different company. Google really dropped the ball here and people should know about it.
I tested this workspace service and quickly canceled because it just didn't work. I moved over to Zoho Mail expecting things to improve, but they got worse. When I tried sending messages from the old service to my Zoho account, they all bounced back as undeliverable. It's crazy that the most basic function, sending email, just doesn't work. They wasted my time with the signup and setup process, and even after I canceled, the service continues to malfunction and break my new email arrangement. Zoho Mail works perfectly in comparison, emails arrive reliably, performance is great, and everything is stable. Avoid this entirely. The service is buggy, poorly maintained, and keeps causing headaches even when you leave. Zoho Mail is far superior.
I switched from a personal Google account that had 2TB for a monthly fee to Workspace supporting 2 users based on an advertisement I saw. There was a 14-day test period. Right after setting it up, my personal storage got combined and suddenly reduced to 300GB. Their team said it was a technical issue that would resolve itself and wanted me to pay an additional fee just to unlock the 4TB package I'd already signed up for. I paid it and they said give it 72 hours. Now nothing works, I can't open any files, documents, sheets, slides or anything despite previously having double the storage. Their support team was useless and refused to help me file a formal complaint or provide information on how to escalate. I'm pretty sure this violates consumer rights laws.
