What Shoppers Say About Drybar
Drybar receives highly polarized feedback, with most shoppers reporting significant service and execution issues. The dominant complaints center on appointment delays and no-shows, rushed service that feels impersonal, stylists not following client requests, and misleading promotions. Several reviewers describe waits of 20 to 30 minutes beyond appointment times, services completed in half the scheduled time, and stylists using different techniques than requested without explanation. A smaller group of satisfied customers praise the friendly staff and quality results, describing their experience as welcoming and worth the cost.
The core tension in reviews appears to be consistency and attentiveness. When stylists deliver personalized attention and skilled work, customers rate the experience highly. However, the majority of recent feedback suggests operational challenges around scheduling adherence, stylist training on client consultation, and service pacing. Customer expectations for a $64 blowout service appear unmet when appointments run short, staff seem rushed, or requests are ignored.

Sorted by: Most recentI've been going to Drybar for years and have always been cool with the typical 15 to 20 minute waits. That's just how salons operate, right? But last Sunday was something else entirely. I had a 1:45 appointment and after hunting for parking at a busy shopping area, I called at 1:55 to say I was on my way. They literally told me they wouldn't see me because I'd missed their 10-minute window. I went inside anyway to talk to the manager, hoping for some understanding. Nope. She just shrugged and said they were running on schedule that day. So basically it's fine when I sit around waiting past my scheduled time, but the one time I'm slightly behind after calling ahead, I get turned away? That's seriously messed up and totally unfair to someone who's been loyal for years.
The location at the Nordstrom in this area has really gone downhill. I booked my sister for a 45 minute blowout with one of their stylists and paid $64 for what was supposed to be a quality experience. The entire thing was done in 25 minutes and the stylist seemed rushed and didn't even ask what look my sister wanted. It felt like they just wanted to get her in and out the door. When I complained about it, management basically gave me a generic apology. This isn't the first time I've had problems there either. I've visited other locations and this one just doesn't measure up anymore. Their quality has really suffered. I'm looking into other salons now because this place just isn't worth it.
This blowout was honestly some of the best work I've had done in a really long time. The whole team there was friendly and made me feel welcome. Definitely worth checking out if you want a quality experience.
I went in for an updo and showed the stylist exactly what I wanted with a picture. She worked on my hair for half an hour without actually creating anything close to what I asked for. When I finally asked her to just curl it, she used a flat iron instead of a curling iron, saying it would hold better. I was really upset with how the whole appointment went. I definitely won't be going back there.
They're promoting a buy one get one deal all over social media, but it's totally misleading. What they call a deal is really just throwing in a tiny sample product. That's not a real promotion.
I've never had a single appointment that started on time at this place. You typically wait anywhere from 20 to 30 minutes, even when they're not slammed. It's like the stylists are deliberately arriving late and making every single person who walks through the door wait around. Sure, some of the stylists do decent work, but you can't even request a specific person. I've tried going three different times hoping things would improve, but nope, same issue every single time. The staff and managers act like the wait times don't matter. This business seems built on frustrating and inconveniencing people, so I'm done.
The customer service here is basically stuck in the past. I purchased something through their website using my digital wallet and immediately realized my saved address was outdated. I sent them a message right away with my order details and the correct address. There's no way to chat with them or call outside business hours, which is frustrating. The next morning I called, thinking it would be a quick fix. Nope. They told me once an order is placed, there's nothing they can do. No canceling, no changing. Now I have to cross my fingers that my old address will send it back, and then they'll process it all over again. Honestly, why would anyone order directly from this company? If you want their stuff, grab it from somewhere else and don't risk losing your money.
I made the choice to order directly from the company to support them, but that was a mistake. They sent me a promotional code in an email, and when I used it to place my order, they refused to honor it. I spoke with someone on their customer service team and got attitude instead of help. They basically said I could try to use it next time, which wasn't acceptable. I called back hoping to get someone more helpful, but the second rep was even ruder and still wouldn't apply the discount. Do yourself a favor and order through Amazon, Nordstrom, or literally anywhere else. Don't order from them directly.
This was hands down the worst online shopping and customer support experience I've ever had. I had a gift card for salon services but both nearby locations shut down during the pandemic, so I tried to buy their products online instead. The website went down for maintenance right after I signed up for their email list and text alerts. I couldn't place an order and had to change my password after waiting days for them to get back online. They never sent the 10% off code they promised new subscribers. I ended up spending over 120 dollars on stuff at full price and while my order sat waiting to ship for more than a week, I got an email about their Labor Day promotion. Everything was marked 30% off. I called to check on my order and asked if they'd credit the difference, but they flat out refused. They wouldn't even give me the original 10% discount I was supposed to get. When I followed up about why I never got that promotional code, they finally responded saying their website was being updated after I registered, so the code never went through. No new code was offered either.
The experience there was really bad. If you enjoy getting burned by the dryer, having your hair yanked by the brush, and leaving with hair that looks worse than when you walked in, then this place is perfect for you. The stylist didn't even apply heat protectant. I sent a detailed email explaining what went wrong with my appointment, and nobody bothered to respond. It's clear they hire people without proper training or experience. Save your money and your hair, because you'll be seriously let down if you go somewhere you actually need to look good.
