Sorted by: Most recentWatch out for hidden charges when renting private apartments through this site. I booked a place in downtown Montreal and got hit with way more fees than expected. On top of the nightly rate and taxes, there was a $100 property fee, $122 cleaning charge, and another $23 in miscellaneous fees. All told, the extra costs came to over $400. Beyond the sticker shock, you also lose out on the protections and security measures that come with staying at established hotels. I'm frustrated that the platform allows these kinds of excessive surcharges without being upfront about them from the start.
