Origins Reviews
What Shoppers Say About Origins
Origins is rated 1.6 out of 5 by 24 shoppers, with the vast majority expressing serious dissatisfaction. The primary complaint across reviews centers on customer service failures: long wait times, dismissive representatives, difficulty reaching support, unresolved billing issues, and instances of shoppers being hung up on. Additional concerns include misleading promotional advertising (bonus gifts that are not honored when discounts apply), address change errors during checkout, unshipped orders without confirmation, and billing discrepancies where customers report being charged for orders they did not place or did not receive.
A small minority of reviewers acknowledge appreciation for the actual skincare products themselves, suggesting the issue lies primarily with operational and customer service processes rather than product quality. However, even those who value the products express frustration severe enough to consider discontinuing purchases. The common thread in negative feedback is a perception that Origins (now owned by Estée Lauder) has deprioritized customer support, leaving shoppers without reliable avenues for resolution when problems occur.

Sorted by: Most recentDREADFUL CUSTOMER SERVICE AND I'D AVOID THEM. Apparently Estée Lauder owns them now and they've totally abandoned the brand. It's like trying to reach a ghost ship when you need help. After jumping through hoops I managed to get someone from their manufacturing department, but they were dismissive and clearly didn't care. Save yourself the headache and go somewhere else. You'll just end up frustrated.
Placed an order on Black Friday evening during an amazing sale. When I went to pay through PayPal, it switched my delivery address to an old address we used to have out of state. It was past customer service hours on a weekend, so I figured I'd call the next morning to fix it. Waited about twenty minutes on the phone and in online chat before getting help. When I explained what happened, the rep basically laughed it off and said I could only change the order within an hour of placing it. But there were no reps available when I ordered, so obviously I couldn't do that. Really frustrating. The order didn't even process until five days later, on December 3rd. In this day and age with the technology available, I'm shocked they can't modify an order that hasn't shipped yet. I'm finished with this company.
Absolutely terrible customer service. They apparently didn't know they operate as a merchant through a specific rewards shopping portal, and when I reached out about two orders that added up to around 400 Canadian dollars, they claimed they had no record of them. Yet I was charged and it's right there on my Visa. Their customer service was completely useless when I asked them to find my order information and send me invoices.
This company is misleading with their advertising. I've been buying from them for years and spent over 140 dollars on a recent purchase expecting to get a 15-piece bonus gift since I hit the threshold. They told me that wasn't available because the whole site was already 30 percent off. But their ad clearly showed the 30 percent discount working alongside the bonus gifts at certain spending levels. Super disappointed. I even saved screenshots of the original ad and the customer service response saying the free gifts weren't included. I'm done shopping with them.
They sent me a package I never placed an order for and demanded I pay for it. When I called to deal with it, they just hung up on me multiple times. Won't use them again and warning anyone else to stay away.
I really do love the actual skincare products, but their customer service makes me want to stop buying from them entirely. Placed an order and it supposedly went through, but I never got a confirmation email and the charge didn't show up on my card. Figured something was off, so I tried ordering again. The system wouldn't let me use my welcome promo code because it said I was a repeat customer, which meant my first order had gone through somehow. Called support and after waiting 50 minutes, mostly while an agent claimed to be looking over my info, they asked if I had an order number. I explained the whole thing again and after another 10 minutes of nothing, they asked the exact same question. Almost two hours later and I still don't have an answer or a way to use that promo code. It's like they actively don't want customers. Incredibly disappointing.
Just placed an order through the Canadian site. The package got lost somewhere in the system but they won't cancel it. Why is this my problem? Issue a refund right now and handle your shipping company situation yourself.
I posted about my issue here and Origins reached out saying to email them and they'd fix it. So I did. And then nothing. Radio silence. They're just shameless about it. There's no real customer service here. If you value yourself at all, don't buy from this place.
UPDATED: Shipping expired products back cost almost 30 dollars and they won't refund me. The company's customer service is really bad. They sent me items that expire in less than two months and then made it impossibly hard to get my money back. They want you to pay for and handle your own return shipping. Still not even sure when or if I'll actually see a refund.
Their website is a disaster. I applied a discount code, went to checkout and poof, it vanished. Logged out and back in, saw the discount again, then it disappeared at checkout once more. After multiple attempts it finally stuck. Then I got to payment and PayPal wouldn't go through. I checked and PayPal wasn't having any issues on their end. This whole process was exhausting. I'm finding a different face cream and never coming back. Looking at all the other reviews, tons of people are saying the same thing. It's sad because I actually like their products, but I'm done. And honestly, if their website can't even function properly, how secure is their payment system? They're probably heading for a data breach.
