What Shoppers Say About First Lite
First Lite receives mostly negative feedback from shoppers, with complaints centered on customer service responsiveness and return policies. Reviewers report frustration with the company's inflexible approach to price adjustments (refusing credits when items go on sale shortly after purchase) and dissatisfaction with return processes (gift card refunds instead of credit card reimbursements, complicated procedures requiring reorders to access sale prices). Some shoppers also mention concerns about product quality and durability in demanding conditions.
A small minority of reviewers give the company credit, though even positive ratings come with reservations. One shopper appreciated their trace gear and belts but noted issues with shipping delays on priority mail orders. Overall, shoppers indicate that customer service experiences and return policy clarity are significant pain points that affect their willingness to recommend First Lite.

Sorted by: Most recentI bought a $500 jacket as a birthday present for my son. Just days later, that same jacket dropped to $300. I called and asked if they could give me a credit for the difference, and they flat out said no. Their answer was that I'd have to return it within 30 days and then reorder it at the sale price, which makes no sense. That would have meant I could've picked up $300 worth of their bibs with a credit instead. This kind of customer service makes no business sense, and they've lost me as a buyer. I'm also going to be telling everyone I know about this experience.
Got my order shipped early September. I selected the priority mail option that was supposed to take three to eight days. Writing this on day seven and the package is still sitting at the facility in Utah, didn't even get picked up yesterday. My order was around $340 for four items, two belts plus a couple pairs of their trace gear. I'm giving four stars because my stuff sat there for three days when I paid for faster shipping. That's not what I expected with priority service. I'm thinking this might be on the postal service's end more than First Lite's, but I'm not totally sure. First year wearing all First Lite stuff for hunting after switching from some other brands, and I've got a bunch of their gear now. Planning to review each piece as I use them, so stay tuned.
The customer service here is really disappointing, and their return policy makes things worse. The clothing quality isn't great either. You'd be better off shopping elsewhere and saving yourself the trouble.
Make Sure You Understand Their Return Policy Before You Buy. I recently sent back a hunting jacket and pants that didn't work out for me. The fabric didn't hold up well in thick brush, and the sizing was just off on both items. Here's where things got frustrating: instead of refunding my money to my credit card, they issued a gift card for what I paid. That meant my cash was basically stuck with them and I had to buy more stuff to use it up. I ended up spending an extra $303 to clear out a $316 gift card, which means First Lite pocketed roughly $16. Add in shipping costs both ways, and this return ended up being pretty expensive for me. Lesson learned: read their return policy carefully before ordering. I didn't, and I paid the price. Customer service pointed out it was my responsibility, which is fair. Also worth knowing: if you buy First Lite gear from another retailer, their return policy applies instead, not First Lite's directly. That's something I wish I'd found out sooner. Do your homework before giving them your money.
