Bedgear Reviews
What Shoppers Say About Bedgear
Bedgear's ratings are sharply polarized, with nearly equal numbers of 5-star and 1-star reviews. Long-time customers praise the brand's durability and quality, with some reporting satisfaction across multiple purchases over years. However, recent purchasers report significant issues including pilling and balling after washing, difficulty installing products that require two people, and products that feel thin or cheap relative to price. The mattress protector is frequently described as plastic-like, and pillowcase straps are reported as non-functional.
The most consistent complaint centers on Bedgear's return policy, which shoppers describe as restrictive and misleading. Multiple reviewers report that opening packaging (even slightly) to inspect materials triggers a no-return policy, and the advertised 100-day Customer Satisfaction guarantee is characterized as not applying to opened items. Customers also report that customer service is unresponsive to quality issues and refuses accommodations even when product defects are documented. The combination of quality inconsistency and rigid return policies has left several shoppers feeling locked into expensive purchases they cannot exchange.

Sorted by: Most recentWe've been buying Bedgear sheets for over ten years and always loved them. We've purchased several sets over the years. When we needed new ones we picked up a set for $299. After washing and using them, we washed them again and they balled up on us. This has never happened with our previous sets and we were really let down. I called customer service and filed a warranty claim with pictures and my receipt. They said it wasn't covered under warranty and offered us 20% off, which was weird because I got an email the same week for a 30% Presidents Day sale. I called back and explained everything and was told that was the best offer they could make. I asked if as a loyal customer for all these years they'd just replace the set, and they said no. I told them I'd leave this review and would never buy from them again. They said they were sorry but nothing changed. I'd recommend going with someone else instead of Bedgear.
These sheets are a pain to get on the bed and really need two people to do it properly, which seems unreasonable. Once they're finally on, they're okay. The real issue is washing them. They get surprisingly heavy when wet. In the dryer you absolutely have to use dryer balls or they turn into one big damp lump. Drying them without the balls means checking every ten minutes. It's a hassle. I'd honestly prefer going back to regular sheets from the department store at this point.
These pillowcases were supposed to have straps to keep them from sliding off the pillow since the fabric is really slick, but the straps don't work at all. To make matters worse, Bedgear has a strict no return policy and refused to work with me even when I explained the problem multiple times. You can tell from other reviews that customer satisfaction isn't their priority. I wish I'd paid closer attention to their return policy before buying.
After reading all these reviews I'm not happy about putting Bedgear products on my new memory foam queen mattress. I got a package deal at the furniture store. The sheets feel cheap and thin, and the mattress protector has this plastic-like feel to it. I washed everything first like you should. I tried asking for advice on how to install the cover properly but it's just so tight to get on.
DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY IF YOU CAN'T TEST IT IN PERSON FIRST. If you open even a small part of the zipper to check the material, they consider it opened and won't take it back. You'll be out $249 with no way to return it. My suggestion to the company would be to send small samples of the fabric so people can evaluate it without opening the actual product. For online shopping this is basically a risky bet that I wouldn't make again.
Don't trust their Customer Satisfaction guarantee because it's misleading. I spent good money on sheets and a mattress protector. The protector arrived stained, and the sheets didn't match the quality promised. When I tried to return them, customer service said all sales are final once you open the package, and the 100 day promise only applies to unopened items. How are you supposed to know if something is actually good without opening it? This is a really frustrating company with awful customer service.
Neither Bedgear nor the furniture retailer will help us. We bought two Bedgear pillows for over $200 each that went flat and caused my husband and me back pain. We've tried calling multiple times without getting callbacks, and when we finally reached Bedgear they claimed we weren't fitted properly for the pillows. They said we should have been asked questions first. The furniture store told us that was the only Bedgear pillow option they had in stock and refused to exchange them or give us our money back. After spending over $12,000 with this retailer we feel completely taken advantage of. The furniture itself arrived damaged too, and getting replacements has been a nightmare. We're upset about this whole situation and plan to share our experience widely. It's wrong that we paid so much for damaged furniture and pillows that hurt us, just because that's all they had available.
Times are tough and I saved up specifically for one Bedgear pillow, not knowing the company changed their formula without telling loyal customers like me. After I reached out asking about it, customer service confirmed the formula was different and said I could send it back. What I didn't know was that shipping this pillow back would cost over $30, which is absolutely crazy. The customer service reps weren't helpful or willing to work with me on this. I used to be a huge Bedgear fan but this whole experience has turned me off completely. I won't be buying from them again and I'm definitely not recommending them to anyone.
Hate that I have to say this, but I'm disappointed. I was trying to invest in better sleep since my husband sleeps hot, so I got the dri-tech sheet set. I run cold but ended up hotter in these sheets than ever before. When I checked on their 365 guarantee I was told there was nothing they could do and that opened items can't be returned or exchanged. How are you supposed to know if something works for you without trying it? They care way more about making the sale than keeping customers happy. After this experience I found tons of other negative reviews and I'm upset I didn't see them before buying.
I paid $225 for a king sized Bedgear mattress protector and it's been a nightmare. It's so slippery that sheets slide all over it and we wake up with the sheets falling off the corners. I let the company and the store know but neither would help. So I'm passing the word to everyone else that they don't back their stuff and I'm stuck out $225 needing to buy something different because I can't deal with this product.
