What Shoppers Say About Ted’s Camera Stores Australia
Ted's Camera Stores Australia receives a heavily negative rating of 1.8 out of 5 from 11 shoppers, with the vast majority reporting serious fulfillment and customer service failures. Recurring complaints center on orders that never arrive or arrive months late without communication, wrong items shipped, ignored calls and emails, and lack of transparency about stock availability or delivery timelines. One positive experience noted responsive staff who processed a refund quickly and kept a customer informed.
The store's most critical weakness is order management and post-sale communication. Shoppers report waiting a month or longer for deliveries with no updates, unresponsive phone lines, unanswered emails, and staff unable to provide information when customers visit in person. The one five-star review stands out as an exception, highlighting that when staff do engage directly, they can resolve issues promptly. However, this positive experience appears isolated against a pattern of systematic communication breakdowns that have left most customers frustrated and unlikely to return.

Sorted by: Most recentI ordered a Nikon camera online but received a Canon instead. I called the number on my receipt multiple times to complain and left messages over the course of a month. Nobody ever responded. Won't be shopping there again.
I purchased a camera in November and it still hasn't been delivered. Whenever I try to get an update on my order, they keep pushing back the delivery date without giving any real reason. This kind of service is not acceptable and it's really frustrating. I've been patient for months but at this point enough is enough. I wouldn't recommend buying from Ted's Cameras based on my own experience here.
I accidentally placed the same online order twice. The team at Ted's really came through for me. They got what I was asking for, processed a refund for the duplicate order, and kept me in the loop every step of the way. The refund showed up in my account within three business days.
My order never came. It was supposed to get to me in seven days but more than a month has gone by and there's still nothing.
I ordered a Sony A7C II and waited a month for it to arrive. There were zero updates about my order. My emails kept getting ignored. Finally, near the end of December, I got ahold of someone through chat who told me they're waiting on their Sony stock to come in before they send mine out. No timeline was given, no word when the shipment arrived, and no status updates while I was waiting. The whole communication situation was really lacking.
I placed an online order for in-store pickup, but the item never showed up. When I tried to reach out via email about what happened, nobody got back to me. Eventually I had to drive down to the store myself just to ask for my money back. The people working there didn't have any information about whether the order would even come in.
I wanted to buy a specific camera that was only sold through their website. I got through the whole checkout and they took the money from my account. Then the next day they emailed me saying it was out of stock. How are you selling something you don't have in stock? They wanted me to respond urgently, which I did, but it took almost a full day and a half to hear back. Now I can't shop anywhere else since my money is tied up waiting for the refund to come through. Really disappointing.
I wanted details about a used Nikon lens that was posted online. I submitted a question on Tuesday, then sent another one Wednesday. When I didn't get any reply, I went to the store on Thursday in person. The sales guy treated me poorly and said he couldn't help, then told me to call the main number instead. I asked him to make the call since I'd already tried that with no luck. He wasn't able to do it either and basically said there was nothing possible.
Grabbed a Manfrotto NX Bodypack Sling Bag in Navy for about fifty bucks on a Saturday in September at the local store. Perfect for keeping my Panasonic 4K video camera safe from drops, scratches, and damage.
I called to ask about pricing differences on a camera I saw advertised. They told me they had no stock and weren't planning to get any more in at that discounted price. So why list it at all? For what it's worth, I got a price match at JB Hi-Fi and they sold it to me for even less than Ted's advertised discount. I'm not wasting any more time on this place and I'm definitely telling people about this experience.
