I purchased a Grohe faucet two decades ago and have been pretty happy with it until recently. The sealing ring under the cartridge started leaking, which seemed like a straightforward fix. I contacted Grohe's customer service expecting them to send me a replacement sealing kit since the lifetime warranty on mechanical parts promises products are "free from manufacturing defects." Instead, they told me this was just normal wear and tear and refused to help. The bigger issue is that the sealing kit isn't even manufactured anymore, so I'd need to buy a whole new cartridge for around $59 online. While I got two great decades out of this faucet, I'm disappointed that Grohe won't stand behind their lifetime warranty promise. This will definitely be my last time buying anything from them.
A professional plumber installed my Grohe faucet back in spring of 2017. A couple years later, I started noticing water pooling on the granite countertop near the backsplash and faucet. It wasn't super obvious at first because of the granite pattern, so I'd just wipe it up whenever I noticed it. Eventually I looked under the sink and realized it was soaking wet down there. Good thing I had a bucket under there that caught most of it, but it was still a mess and there was water everywhere. I have no idea how long it had actually been leaking. I checked the supply line hoses and they were fine, so the leak had to be coming from inside the unit. I submitted my warranty information online and they asked me to send the faucet back. When it came back, they claimed it didn't leak when they tested it running water and said the problem was that I hadn't sent the supply lines. But I had specifically mentioned in my note that I removed them for shipping and explained why. When I called their customer service after waiting on hold forever, they clearly hadn't even read my email or looked at the photos and documentation I sent. Absolutely frustrating experience.
