What Shoppers Say About AFENDS
AFENDS is rated 1.8 out of 5 by 17 shoppers, with a significant majority expressing serious dissatisfaction. The recurring complaints center on declining product quality relative to premium pricing, aggressive data collection practices (requesting phone numbers as a condition for advertised discounts), pricing manipulation (raising prices before sales to inflate apparent discounts), and poor customer service including slow email responses, unhelpful return policies, and confusing refund deductions. Shoppers report that size exchanges are refused and returns are inconvenient, with some noting the company ships from Australia which compounds return costs. A small minority of reviewers appreciate the brand, with some noting that older AFENDS products held up well, suggesting potential decline in recent manufacturing or quality control.
While a handful of shoppers rate the brand favorably, the overwhelming consensus is negative. Long response times from customer service (sometimes a week or more), unclear refund practices, and inflexible policies have left many buyers frustrated and regretting their purchases. The combination of quality concerns, questionable marketing tactics, and customer service failures has eroded trust in the brand.

Sorted by: Most recentI used to be a big fan of Afends back in the day. Still have some of their older shirts that are holding up great. But the recent purchases I made have been a complete letdown in terms of quality. Just sent back one shirt and it cost me twenty bucks to do so. How do they justify selling low-quality stuff at premium prices? Really frustrating. These brands should know when to call it quits while they're ahead instead of tanking themselves by cutting corners everywhere. You can't blame this on the economy, it's just straight-up greed.
They're advertising a discount if you give them your email, then once they have it, they demand your phone number before you can actually get the discount. This goes against FTC rules no matter how innocent it looks. If they're willing to pull this kind of move, they'll probably scam you. No legitimate clothing company needs your phone number unless they're planning to sell it off.
I was watching for the sale when an item was marked at sixty-nine pounds, but then a month before the actual sale started, the price jumped up to ninety-five. When the sale actually happened, the price ended up being seventy-five ninety-nine, which was still higher than the original amount.
Ordered two items on sale for my son's gift, but immediately found out I'd gotten the wrong size. Reached out to their customer service asking for a size change, and they basically said nope, that's against company policy and I'd need to return them instead. Getting these items shipped from Australia to the UK would cost more than what I paid for them. So I asked them to just cancel everything, but again they said their policy won't allow that. A few days later they email apologizing for slow shipping, so I tell them forget it, I don't want the items since you already know that. They respond with some robotic message about how orders move too fast through their warehouse to change or cancel anything, which is laughable considering this was four days after my order and their own apology email. The whole situation is honestly mind-boggling. I'm looking at about £20 for the return, £18 for shipping, and the two items were only £1 each.
Avoid this place. The customer service is absolutely awful and it took them two full weeks to even acknowledge that I'd sent something back, and only then after I told them I'd dispute the charge with my bank. Most emails get ignored or take almost a week to answer. With their returns process, I had to find my own label and figure out how to return stuff myself. They never gave me an address upfront. I only found out because I got an automated email two days later with return tips, and even that one was missing part of the postcode so I had to search it online. They ask you to track returns through something called Refundid but it wouldn't let me register since it only offers Australia as a phone country code. For how much their clothes cost, it's shocking how bad the service is. Maybe spend less on Instagram ads and more on actually hiring customer service people.
I'm in the UK and they deducted forty pounds from my refund for shipping, even though I had to pay for my own shipping to get the stuff back to a UK address. Not sure what that deduction was actually for. Plus they forgot to send my partial refund until I had to bug them about it. Wish I'd looked at reviews before ordering!
Their customer service is absolutely terrible for the price point they operate at. They deflect blame instead of owning up to their own problems and responses take way longer than they should. I spent around six hundred dollars on items during their Black Friday event, but a full month later my order still hasn't come. After tons of back and forth, they blamed the shipping company, but the tracking showed the package was actually still at their warehouse. These aren't the terms I agreed to. It takes them forever to come up with answers and then every time something new goes wrong. Really disappointed with my experience and would tell anyone to buy somewhere else.
The customer service here is absolutely terrible considering what they charge. They always find someone else to blame instead of actually fixing their mistakes, and getting a response takes forever. I dropped around six hundred bucks during their Black Friday promotion and a month goes by with no clothes arriving. After sending multiple emails and trying to follow up, they claimed it was the carrier's fault, but the tracking clearly showed the package still sitting in their own warehouse. This isn't what I signed up for. Solutions take ages to get and then something new always goes wrong. Really let down by this experience and I'd advise others to shop elsewhere.
I knew the item was on pre-order for late July when I ordered back in March, but there was almost no communication when the date kept getting pushed. When it finally showed up in September, only one of the two dresses was in the box. For a company that cares about the environment, splitting shipments like that seems pretty wasteful. The actual dress quality is also pretty disappointing, very thin material with sloppy stitching. My whole experience was filled with delays and shipping mistakes, so I really can't recommend them.
