Terrible situation with Aleck's return policy. They won't take back anything if you've opened the box. This wasn't visible on their site when I bought, but their support team throws it in your face every time. I got the Off-Grid Walkie talkies for my wife and me. After installing the latest Aleck app and updating both units, I spent forever just trying to pair them. I managed to connect one to my phone, but connecting to my Aleck headphones was a nightmare. Every time I tried it would either time out or crash the whole app. When I finally got it connected, it kept dropping the link over and over, whether to the headphones or the phone. My wife's Aleck headphones did the same thing. For maybe a minute or two both walkie-talkies were linked, but they couldn't send anything to each other even though we matched the channels and followed all the steps. Just got the Aleck Nunchucks and honestly, I'm really let down. The build quality is super low, made with really flimsy materials, and they literally fell apart the first day I used them snowboarding. Seriously don't buy these. I'd look at what people say about similar products on Amazon instead because even the budget options get way better ratings. Skip the Aleck Nunchucks...total trash

Like a lot of people, I got hit with unexpected customs fees. The checkout process never said the item was coming from another country, so I was blindsided by both the tax and the FedEx customs handling charge, which added a ton to what I paid. I've tried reaching out to Aleck several times with no response. On top of that, all four units have problems. I'm dealing with audio cutouts unless I unmute myself, complete audio dropouts, map display issues, and more. We spent a lot of time messing with different settings, making sure the firmware and apps were current, but nothing worked. We're all pretty tech-savvy and usually figure things out. I'd definitely recommend buying through Amazon or another retailer where you can actually return items that don't work. Aleck won't get back to anyone.

The value on the customs form was completely wrong. They tried to tell me that customs determines the value, but the paperwork clearly shows the shipper fills that in themselves. They put 179 on the declaration for something that actually cost 67.50. So instead of the 13 vat I expected, I got hit with 31 in vat plus 11 in import duty because it went over the 135 threshold. Ridiculous. They wouldn't own up to any of it. I knew there'd be vat but not on a price they made up. Horrible support. Won't order from them again

EDIT: Aleck actually refunded those customs charges and kept me in the loop the whole time. Really happy with how they fixed it! ORIGINAL: I ordered 3 sets of Nunchuck earphones and they're coming with a massive customs bill I have to pay through DHL. Nobody told me they'd be shipping from outside the UK, and since I paid in pounds it was super confusing. Support says I just have to pay it, but that's not right. I paid £200 for the earphones and now I'm looking at £70 in additional fees. Heads up to anyone else thinking about ordering!
