What Shoppers Say About American Tourister
American Tourister luggage receives sharply divided reviews on RetailCoupons.com, rated 2.0 out of 5 by 22 shoppers. The overwhelming majority of negative reviews center on durability and construction quality issues: customers report exterior peeling, handles snapping, zippers failing, and evidence of pre-owned or defective parts being sold as new. The warranty is repeatedly criticized as ineffective, with customers stating that common failure points like zippers and handles are not covered. Customer service has also drawn complaints for being unresponsive, repetitive in their requests for information, and unhelpful in resolving problems.
A small minority of five-star reviewers express satisfaction, though their specific feedback lacks detail. The stark rating distribution (73 percent one-star, 23 percent five-star, with no middle-ground reviews) suggests either significant quality control inconsistencies or dramatically different customer experiences depending on product batch or purchase source. Shoppers considering American Tourister should be aware that durability complaints and warranty limitations are the dominant themes in customer feedback.

Sorted by: Most recentBought a medium character suitcase for around 129 pounds and after using it once the inner zipper and stitching completely fell apart. Called customer service to report the defect and they wanted me to pay to ship it in for warranty inspection, which I wasn't willing to do. After some back and forth they agreed that since it was brand new they'd arrange a courier pickup. Eventually they told me it was covered under warranty and couldn't be fixed, so they'd send a replacement. Problem is they didn't have my exact model in stock anymore. Since nothing else appealed to me I asked for my money back, but they refused. They basically forced me to accept a replacement model I didn't want. I spent 129 pounds on a case I don't like because of their decision. Would never buy from them again. Expensive and overpriced, and when you return something faulty they won't give refunds.
Bought an American Tourister case for a trip and when I got to my hotel I found the side of the case was cracked near the wheel area and separating from the casing. I've owned various bags from different brands and traveled internationally plenty of times, and this has never happened to me. I called a few times and they sent it to a third-party inspector who said it was damage from something else and told me I'd have to pay for repairs. I'm really frustrated because I thought I was buying from a reliable company, but this fell apart after just one trip. It's hard to believe a supposedly high-quality bag would break like this. I wouldn't recommend buying from them.
