What Shoppers Say About Babylist
Babylist is rated 1.3 out of 5 by 25 shoppers, with the vast majority expressing serious dissatisfaction. Reviewers report critical problems across multiple areas: shipping delays that cause orders to arrive too late for their intended events, a confusing and broken return process where retailers do not honor their policies, order management issues including items marked as purchased when they should not be, and frustrating cancellation systems that fail to work as advertised. The platform also faces criticism for high prices combined with slow fulfillment times, leaving customers feeling they paid premium prices for subpar service.
Customer service appears ineffective at resolving these issues, with support staff offering limited solutions like store credit instead of actual refunds or returns. Insurance coverage processing through the platform has created additional problems, with customers facing unexpected bills months after purchases. The combination of operational failures, lack of system functionality, and unresponsive support has left shoppers cautioning others against using Babylist for baby registries or gift purchases.

Sorted by: Most recentReally disappointed with this experience. I ordered something that showed it was available to buy. When I tried to mark it as purchased, the system said it was already bought. Now the recipient is getting two of them since I can't return it and they're only offering store credit.
I ordered for a shower that was happening on March fourteenth but they weren't shipping until March seventeenth. This service was terrible and I would never trust them with a baby registry.
The return process is way too complicated and confusing. Retailers that sell through babylist don't recognize their return policies, which ends up making items impossible to send back.
I purchased a gift through babylist but couldn't cancel it once I realized it was being sent to me instead of the parents-to-be. My confirmation email said orders can be canceled within 45 minutes of purchase. I tried to click the cancellation link well within that window, but it just brought me back to the same babylist page with the same link. It was like a never-ending loop. When I called support the next morning to talk to a Happiness Hero, they basically told me to either refuse the package or return it and place a new order. Super unhelpful. They really need to fix their online cancellation system.
This has to be one of the worst registry options out there. I spent over forty dollars including shipping on items that were already pricey to begin with, and then waited seven weeks for it to arrive. By that time my friend had already had her baby. I was okay with paying extra for convenience but not this long. Their customer service just said it's in their terms and conditions. I'd strongly suggest looking elsewhere.
This was the absolute worst. Please don't order here. I got a breast pump through them using insurance coverage, which was incredibly slow to process and ship. Then half a year later they send me an email saying insurance won't cover it and I owe them money. Never mind that I had active coverage when I ordered. Their solution was just to tell me to contact my insurance and offer a payment plan for twenty bucks a month. Since then I switched insurance and got surprise billed, which isn't legal in my state. They're expensive, take way too long to deliver, and their customer service is the worst. Stay away.
Absolutely terrible experience with this company. Do not order from them. I bought a breast pump using my insurance and it took forever to process and finally get shipped. Then six months later they email me saying my insurance won't cover it and I'm getting a bill. This is crazy since I definitely had coverage at the time. They basically said deal with it and offered a payment plan of twenty dollars a month. I no longer even have that insurance and they hit me with this surprise bill which is illegal where I live. They're overpriced, slow to ship, and have awful customer service. Don't buy a single thing from them.
I was really let down by this being the registry chosen for a shower I got invited to. I found the registry easily and picked out my gift which I bought from Amazon and had sent to me without issues. Then it went downhill from there. They wanted my purchase order number, which I declined. Then they wanted proof of where I purchased it, and said they wouldn't mark my gift as bought without it. They also asked for my address for a thank you card which felt unnecessary. But the worst part was when they asked me on a feedback form if I was having a baby. That's way too invasive. I'd never recommend this registry to anyone.
So frustrated that this registry was picked for a baby shower I attended. Adding my gift was straightforward and I bought it from Amazon without any problems. But then things got weird. They wanted my order number, then proof of where I bought it, then my mailing address so they could send a thank you card. When I filled out a feedback form they actually asked me if I was planning to have a baby. That's crossing a line with personal questions. I wouldn't suggest this to anyone.
