What Shoppers Say About Benjamin Moore
Benjamin Moore receives sharply divided ratings, with 18 shoppers giving either very positive or very negative assessments. Recurring complaints center on product quality concerns, inconsistent coverage and color results, difficulty accessing the full product line through local retailers, slow or frustrating customer support when issues arise, and refund processes that shoppers describe as unnecessarily complicated. A smaller group of satisfied customers appreciates the brand's reputation and color options, though specific performance benefits are rarely detailed in positive reviews.
Major friction points include availability problems at franchise retailers who don't stock the complete range, particularly flat finish options for certain product lines, and the requirement to travel significant distances or order online when local stores won't special order. Shoppers also report concerns about potential counterfeit products in circulation and quality inconsistencies compared to their previous purchases of the same items.

Sorted by: Most recentBought their interior paint to switch my walls from semi gloss to satin finish. Got everything primed and picked out a French grey color that I really like. The problem is the coverage was disappointing. At $85 per gallon for what the salesperson called their best product, it barely covered anything. I had to do two coats on every wall. Learned my lesson and I'm going back to Behr paint which I've used before. Pretty disappointed with the value.
Spent a lot of money on two cans of paint to redo my daughter's tiny bedroom and had to apply it five times to cover the original sky blue color. Customer support suggested I should've just applied it thicker, which doesn't make practical sense. Slathering paint on that thick would cause drips and roller splatters everywhere, plus they promise 1-2 hour drying times which obviously wouldn't happen with that much product. The service team didn't seem interested in helping and the paint's performance was disappointing for the price tag.
Went to the showroom and met Leo who was absolutely fantastic. He's charming, really knows the products inside and out, and just a pleasure to work with. Best experience I could've asked for.
Had a frustrating experience with their customer service. I made a mistake and ordered the same color twice thinking my first order didn't go through. I messaged them the same day asking to cancel one but they said it was already processed. I offered to return it unopened at my own expense but they refused, saying they never resell that particular color even though it's one of their top sellers and has been featured in design magazines for years. Their attitude was pretty condescending overall. I won't be ordering from them again.
Simply outstanding! From start to finish the experience was great with delivery in just 2 days. Amazing coverage and a high gloss shine that applies like liquid silk. Water based paint doesn't usually give this kind of finish, but the results are phenomenal. It dried within the promised timeframe and finished with a surface that's nearly impossible to scratch.
This paint lives up to the hype! Everything was smooth from placing my order through getting it delivered in 2 days. The coverage is excellent with a beautiful glossy finish that feels smooth like liquid silk. For a water based product the results are outstanding, and within 48 hours it had dried to a nearly scratch resistant surface.
I've been working with Benjamin Moore paint since 2015 and think it's fantastic. The color selection has real depth and saturation, especially love their Advance line for wood finishes. The colors stay true from the sample all the way to the full gallon. I check cans in stores regularly and never see any lumps, debris, or color problems. As someone who runs a professional painting operation, I can say this is quality product worth using.
Benjamin Moore is a fantastic paint to work with. I've been using it since 2015 and the colors have a beautiful rich quality to them. The Advance line is especially nice for woodwork with a gorgeous finish. The colors match exactly from the sample to the full gallon purchase. I inspect every can in the store and never find lumps, strings, or any color issues under the lid. From my experience running a professional painting company, this is top tier quality.
