Bogs Footwear Reviews
What Shoppers Say About Bogs Footwear
Bogs Footwear has a divided customer base. A small group of loyal shoppers praise the boots for warmth, comfort, traction, and practical design features, with some customers reporting years of satisfaction. However, the majority of recent reviews express serious concerns about quality decline, defective products arriving with wrong sizes, inconsistent insulation performance despite temperature claims, and problematic customer service. Long-term customers report that recent warranty reductions (from lifetime to one year) and visible quality issues such as seams splitting and neoprene separation are major frustrations. Several reviewers mention difficulty with warranty claims and unresponsive customer support.
Shoppers consistently cite manufacturing defects appearing after minimal wear, temperature performance that does not match advertising claims, and customer service that has become less helpful when issues arise. A subset of dissatisfied customers report escalating complaints to consumer protection agencies. While some buyers remain satisfied with their purchases, the overall pattern suggests reliability and support issues that have emerged in recent product batches.

Sorted by: Most recentI thought I was buying from the official site and my payment went through immediately. I got an order confirmation email right away. However, I never received the boots I paid for.
Purchased a pair of Bogs in late January. I wore them less than 10 times over the spring and summer months for canoeing in lake water. In August I noticed the logo starting to peel. By late fall I saw the neoprene seam separating on one boot and delamination on both boots where the cuff meets the lower part. I returned them to the store in early December. The staff wasn't great about it and said Bogs probably wouldn't do anything since they'd been worn a year. I had to correct them that I bought them ten months prior. I'll let the store deal with it, but if nothing happens I'm going after Bogs directly. Good thing I kept the original box and receipt. Both Muck and Bogs boots are off my future purchase list.
Complete fraud. Ordered three pairs of boots and after waiting forever, what showed up was a pair of knockoff designer sunglasses. Don't order from here.
Bought these boots for winter dog walking here on Vancouver Island where it rains constantly. Needed something to keep my feet dry in the neighborhood. The first pair fell apart after just under 4 months and started leaking through split seams. They had a one-year warranty so I got replacements shipped out. Now the replacement pair has a split seam in the left boot after less than 3 months of wearing them. Skip these and find a better brand. The quality just isn't there with this company.
After wearing my insulated Bogs boots through two seasons of cold fall weather, the material right above the rubber section deteriorated and I ended up with a tear in the front just above the rubber part. The rubber strip running up the back of the boot also cracked. The company claims they have a negative 50 degrees Celsius rating which is completely inaccurate because my feet were freezing even at zero degrees. Using them for two seasons in cold fall temperatures and having this happen plus the rubber becoming totally discolored is really bad considering they cost nearly $200 Canadian. The one-year warranty with zero flexibility tells you everything about the company. The quality is poor and customer service is even worse. They don't deserve the reputation they have.
Had recurring problems trying to process payment with my credit card. They keep charging my account then claiming there's an error, which there isn't because I confirmed with my card company. Tried ten different times and ended up with over $1000 on hold but still no boots. It took a full week to get the hold removed. Then I tried paying through PayPal as they suggested and hit the same problem. They didn't offer any help or support. Incredibly frustrated. Won't be ordering from them again.
Purchased a pair of Bogs short water boots that arrived with a small defect. I let Bogs Canada know and they handled it quickly and professionally. I'm really happy with their response and would tell others to give them a try!
Got a pair of Bogs short water boots but there was a small issue when they arrived. I reported it to Bogs Canada and they took care of it right away. I was really impressed with how quickly they responded and would definitely tell others to check them out!
Purchased a pair of Bogs Welles that leaked at the seam just outside the warranty period. That's $80 for barely a year of light use walking my dog in winter. Not worth the money. I sent pictures to the company and they said it was normal wear and tear. I only wore them for one winter season of dog walking. Bad value and the company's response was disappointing. I had Dunlop boots for 15 years with zero leaks ever.
My wife surprised me with my first pair of Bogs waterproof boots because I definitely wouldn't spend $80 on rubber boots by choice. I've used them several times in snow and slush conditions and they're amazing. They slip on and off without trouble, don't leak, and keep my feet nice and dry.
