What Shoppers Say About Boston Market
Boston Market is rated 1.4 out of 5 by 20 shoppers, with the vast majority of reviews expressing serious dissatisfaction. Reviewers consistently report problems across both frozen grocery products and restaurant locations: frozen meals lack advertised ingredients (such as shredded mozzarella), feature mushy or inadequate breading, and arrive cold with tiny portions; fresh restaurant meals appear dried out or poorly cooked; and customer service issues include unresolved refund requests for closed locations and billing errors at the register. A small number of shoppers have had acceptable experiences, but negative reviews far outweigh positive feedback.
Recurring complaints center on food quality, portion sizes, and preparation consistency across multiple Boston Market locations. Shoppers report that dishes taste bland, lack proper seasoning, or appear to have been held under heat lamps for extended periods. Refund and payment disputes with the company have left some customers unresolved despite providing documentation. The consensus among reviewers is that Boston Market's quality has declined significantly, with many stating they will not purchase from the chain again.

Sorted by: Most recentI wish I could give zero stars for this. My company is a small women-owned business and Boston Market hired one of our contractors through us. We paid her salary while she worked with them for months. When they decided to bring her on as a full-time employee, they completely stopped paying our invoices. We're out over $35,000 and the company won't respond to any of our calls, emails, or even letters from our lawyer. It's unbelievable that a corporation this size thinks it's okay to refuse payment after getting the work done. They've completely ignored every attempt we've made to contact them.
Ordered food online on Sunday and paid upfront. When I got there to pick it up, the store was already closed. Nobody left a note or anything, the place was just empty.
Boston Market catering completely ruined my wedding day. One hour before my Christmas wedding, I got a call saying my credit card was declined even though I had already paid for everything with gift cards. We didn't owe them anything. To make sure my guests had food, I had to pay with another card. Then I found out they had also cancelled one of my orders that was already paid for, so a lot of what we ordered wasn't available. The local shop said I'd get a refund but a month later I'm still out over a thousand dollars and now I'm dealing with credit card disputes and probably small claims court. Stay away from their catering.
Don't waste your money here. I tried placing an order online on 12/11/2021 at a location in Dallas, and they charged me even though the restaurant was closed that day. I've tried reaching out to customer service multiple times through phone, email, and social media but nobody responds. This company just takes your money without delivering what you paid for. It's a total rip off and I'd stay far away from them.
I went to a location in Illinois and had a bad fall in the parking lot. I stepped on a sewer cover and it flipped, causing me to fall. A manager named Marsha came out and helped me up, but the company never called or checked in on me after to see if I was okay.
I order delivery from here all the time because I really enjoy the food, but they mess up my order almost every single visit. Something is always missing or made wrong. Last time I got a sandwich combo but no side or drink. They forgot the gravy for the potatoes, no cornbread, the cilantro lime rice was basically inedible, and they gave me regular chicken instead of the garlic parmesan I ordered. The receipt shows exactly what I asked for so I know what I ordered. This has been going on for two years and it happens so often that I don't think it's coincidence anymore. The food quality varies too but it's usually decent so that's not my main complaint. My issue is consistently not getting what I pay for.
Really frustrated with my recent order. I got a half barbecue dark chicken with corn and mashed potatoes plus extra mac and cheese and a southwest cobb salad. When I got home, I noticed the mashed potatoes were missing from my tray. The salad only had lettuce, cheese, and croutons when it should have had more. Feels like a waste of my time and money.
Went on Saturday and was shocked at how bad everything was. This is the first time in years we've had such a terrible experience. The potatoes tasted like they came from a box, instant stuff. The mac and cheese was watered down and nasty. I went a few months ago and it was fantastic. They mentioned that stuffing is only seasonal but I know for a fact I've had it there outside of Thanksgiving before. I won't be going back to that location anytime soon. It's sad because they used to be really great.
Every time I go here it's been great. Boston Market is one of my absolute favorite places to eat. The staff genuinely cares about making customers happy. During my pregnancy, my daughter practically lived on their food and so did I. We still love it. I do think using less oil would be better at most restaurants though.
I ordered dinner online on 1/5/19 from my local Boston Market and went to pick it up. The food wasn't ready and they told me the online ordering system wasn't working. They said they'd refund my payment automatically. I decided to order food there in the store instead and was charged $57. When I checked my account, I'd been charged twice. I went back the next day and was told I'd get the refund in 3-5 business days. The following weekend I returned to check on it since I still hadn't gotten my money back, but the entire store was gone. The signs were down, the place was empty, and I had no way to get my refund or even reach anyone. I've been a loyal customer for years and I just got left hanging. I paid over $103 for a family meal that didn't even come with gravy. I work hard too and it's not right to treat customers like this with no way to get resolution.
