Breyer Model Horses Reviews
What Shoppers Say About Breyer Model Horses
Breyer Model Horses receives overwhelmingly negative feedback, with shoppers rating the store 1.8 out of 5 across 22 reviews. The primary complaint centers on customer service failure: customers report unresponsive email support, rude phone staff, unresolved order issues, incomplete shipments, and refusal to process refunds without credit card disputes. Many reviewers note that while the Breyer horse products themselves are attractive and collectible, the company's inability or unwillingness to support customers has driven loyal collectors away from purchasing directly from the official store.
A small minority of shoppers (18 percent) rate the store positively, but the dominant pattern among negative reviews involves orders placed in December 2024 and January 2025 that arrived late, incomplete, or not at all. Customers specifically mention waiting weeks for responses to support inquiries, unshipped items that were listed as available, and unexpected customs charges on international orders. The consistency of these complaints across multiple independent reviews suggests systemic operational and customer service problems rather than isolated incidents.

Sorted by: Most recentOrdered straight from their website. They're based in the US but charged me seventy dollars for shipping to the UK, which seemed really high but I figured that's what it cost. Then I had to pay another 55 pounds in customs fees on top of that. Don't bother with them if you're ordering internationally.
My daughter got a gift that was supposed to have both a book and a horse included. Unfortunately we can't return it to the original purchaser due to circumstances we can't control, but that's literally the only option Breyer suggested. The customer service person wasn't helpful at all because they apparently don't sell individual items, which I get, but the package is still sealed and it was clearly a packing mistake on Breyer's end. The rep just kept saying sorry, we don't break up bundles. I've owned plenty of Breyer horses over the years and given them as gifts too, but their unwillingness to actually help when something goes wrong has really turned me off. I'll be shopping elsewhere for gifts going forward.
This company really needs to get their priorities straight. I'm only giving one star because the actual sculptors who create these pieces are incredibly talented, though that's not really a Breyer accomplishment since they outsource. The paint quality, the ordering experience, and how they handle customer issues are all pretty disappointing. It seems like they know they don't have much competition and use that to inflate prices without caring about making things right. My last interaction will definitely be my last. I wanted to upgrade my Breyer Fest ticket because their site made it seem like lower-tier tickets got access to online classes when they don't. Didn't care about the free model, just wanted to pay the difference for those pre-recorded courses. My first message got ignored and the second was flat-out rejected. Honestly, their customer service is about as useful as a screen door on a boat. This could've been solved in five seconds, but they either can't be bothered or the company won't allow it. For what they're charging, the products simply aren't worth it.
This company is a complete joke. They've disappointed me so many times. This latest situation is ridiculous. They scheduled delivery for 11/30 but showed up on 12/1 when nobody was home. They left a note saying nobody answered the phone, but they never even called. It's pathetic.
I've given them multiple opportunities but this needs to stop. You'd think buying pricey models directly from the manufacturer would mean better quality control, but it's exhausting dealing with returns. The boxes show up absolutely mangled like someone did it on purpose. I'm done ordering from them for good.
Bought something from them nearly two weeks ago and the customer service rep was pretty smug. The horse hasn't shipped yet. You can tell they think they're above everyone else. My six year old wakes up hoping her horse has left the warehouse, and I have to give her the same disappointing answer every day about the horse she already named. She loves collecting horses and this whole thing has been such a letdown.
Overall Breyerhorses.com is pretty solid, but their customer support is absolutely terrible. Ordering from the site usually goes smoothly with quick delivery. However, whenever something goes wrong and I try to contact them through their form, I get no reply even though they claim to respond within a business day. Either the contact system doesn't work or they genuinely don't care about helping customers. Hopefully they'll address this, but for now I'm hesitant to order again.
Breyer horses are absolutely wonderful! Their customer service matches the quality too. I feel treated like family every single time I shop with them. The care and attention they put into fulfilling orders is really something special.
