I'm a bigger guy and I called about getting replacement parts, but nothing like that is available. Since I'm out of the one-year warranty, they basically told me I'm stuck. I can't honestly recommend this. The water jet feature works fine, but what good is a four hundred dollar toilet seat if you can't even sit on it?
Short version: Coway isn't dependable, their help is subpar, and they won't refund or replace packages when delivery goes wrong. They didn't notify me before shipping, so I wasn't prepared. When I checked the tracking, I saw it had already shown up. The delivery photo clearly shows the Coway box labeled as an air purifier. The driver didn't ring the bell or leave it somewhere less obvious on my porch. I've gotten lots of packages at this same place over six years and nothing's ever disappeared until this. Coway told me it wasn't their problem since it was delivered. I disagree - if they're not shipping in unmarked packaging and not telling customers when something's on the way, they should take some responsibility. UPS is equally unhelpful. Just giving a heads up to others.
The device itself works great, but the customer service is seriously lacking. I got the Coway Mega 1512 HH and after six months the carbon filter gave out. Turns out when you buy the unit you only get one carbon filter included. I called to ask about getting just a replacement carbon filter, and the rep was incredibly rude to me. When I pointed out that my HEPA filter still has life left and asked why I'd have to throw it away, he basically said tough luck and you need both. Come to find out you're forced to buy the entire filter package with everything included. This is my second time calling and both times the staff has been hostile and dismissive. The air cleaner itself works well and the reviews are solid, but honestly I'd rather have someone who actually cares about helping customers instead of treating your questions like they're a burden.
I picked up a Coway AP-1008CH and it performs really well overall. My main complaints are around the price of replacement filters and how tough it is to clean that first filter. Getting all the dust out requires quite a bit of effort, even if you vacuum it first and then rinse it with water.
