What Shoppers Say About Candlewood Hotel Company
Candlewood Hotel Company receives highly polarized feedback, with shoppers split between strong satisfaction and serious dissatisfaction. Positive reviewers appear to value the extended-stay concept and certain properties, but they are heavily outnumbered by guests reporting significant problems. Recurring complaints include overbilling beyond advertised rates, rooms that do not match online descriptions, poor housekeeping standards (dirty dishes, moldy items, torn carpet), unresponsive front desk staff, non-refundable booking disputes, surprise price increases, lack of accessibility features (missing elevators), and inadequate security or property maintenance. Multiple guests describe properties as appearing abandoned or poorly managed.
The most severe complaints involve customer service failures, such as staff refusing to honor paid reservations without explanation or refunds, and safety concerns including confrontations with intoxicated guests and the need to involve police. Guests also report difficulties with cancellation policies and disputes over rates charged after booking. The stark divide in ratings (50 percent one-star and 31 percent five-star) suggests inconsistent experiences across locations or property conditions, though negative reviews dominate recent feedback.

Sorted by: Most recentThis Intercontinental location in Dublin is absolutely top-notch. It sits in a perfect spot in the Ballsbridge neighborhood, which is well-known and highly regarded. Getting around the city is easy thanks to buses, trams, and roads that connect directly to Dublin's center. The views from the area are lovely. You'll find an excellent restaurant on-site, a good fitness center, a swimming pool, and parking available. The breakfast selection is really impressive. Staff members are welcoming and genuinely go out of their way to make your stay enjoyable. The Executive rooms are particularly comfortable with a large bed that's perfect for sleeping. If you're planning a trip to Dublin, I'd highly recommend booking here. Thank you for making my stay so memorable and wonderful. Couldn't ask for better.
I called the Intercontinental London by the O2 to discuss my booking for three deluxe rooms for a trip with my kids to see Ariana Grande followed by an overnight stay. Vijay provided outstanding help, answered every question I had thoroughly, connected me with other team members when needed, and offered to follow up personally if required. He made every single request seem important and manageable. That's what real customer care looks like. Some businesses take your money and disappear, but thankfully that's not how this place operates.
This is truly a spectacular place to stay. If you're looking for a home away from home with exceptional service, incredible dining, and so much more, the Intercontinental in Mauritius is it. I loved it so much on my first visit with family that I went back again just six months later with my partner. I can't speak highly enough about the presidential suite, which is absolutely the finest room they have. Everything is immaculate, the property is gorgeous, and the entire experience felt incredibly special. The staff treats you like royalty. The beach area isn't the best part of the resort, but that hasn't stopped me from planning to return next year because the whole thing was absolutely amazing. I'm strongly recommending this place to everyone.
I stayed one night before catching an early flight, so I just needed to shower and leave. When I grabbed a towel from the bathroom, I was shocked to find it covered in stains. Since there were no other towels available, I had to use a hand towel instead. Not only were there visible stains, but the towel also had a really unpleasant odor. At a 4-star hotel, you'd think they could provide at least one clean towel. It seemed like a small thing, but it shouldn't happen at this level of establishment. I was rushing to make my taxi and didn't have time to complain in person, so I decided to reach out when I got home. I posted about it on social media and received a quick response asking me to email with my details. When I did, they sent back a generic apology and said they'd added it to my file. When I asked how that actually helps me, they just repeated that it was noted. Honestly, their customer service response was more frustrating than the original problem.
Great experience overall. The hotel offered good value for what we paid, and we actually managed to get a deal that was better than expected. I'd definitely suggest this place to anyone looking for a comfortable visit. My partner and I had a wonderful time there.
I spent three days at the Intercontinental Warsaw for work. Overall, it's a really nice hotel. The staff is friendly, breakfast is excellent and even includes live harp music, which is a nice touch. The rooms are comfortable and the facilities are great, especially the spacious gym and swimming pool. The rates are reasonable and the location is central. I would definitely recommend this place to others.
