Dell Canada Reviews
What Shoppers Say About Dell Canada
Dell Canada is rated 2.1 out of 5 by 16 shoppers, with a polarized distribution: 63 percent of reviews are one-star ratings. Shoppers who gave positive ratings praise specific product quality, particularly monitor display performance and occasional competitive pricing on laptops. One reviewer noted that Dell Canada's customer service improved when they persisted with a complaint about a defective monitor. However, the majority of negative reviews cite serious concerns about build quality, warranty limitations, and customer support. Recurring complaints include laptop hinges and screens failing within the first one to two years, automated support systems that do not provide real assistance, warranty cutoff policies that prevent repairs even when customers are willing to pay out of pocket, and difficulties with cashback rebate validation that prevents customers from receiving advertised refunds.
Build reliability appears to be a significant pain point across reviews, with multiple shoppers reporting hardware failures shortly after or near warranty expiration. Shoppers consistently describe customer support as difficult to access and unhelpful, with one reviewer noting that support staff rely on technical warranty language to avoid honoring customer concerns. The cashback rebate issue appears to be a systemic problem specific to Dell Canada, with shoppers reporting they cannot validate purchases through third-party cashback programs in the same way they can with other retailers.

Sorted by: Most recentBrand new laptop arrived basically defective. Hardware, BIOS, and drivers don't work together properly at all. It's completely broken right out of the box. The technical support team is essentially useless and you're on your own. It's nearly impossible to get a real person on the phone. When you do connect with someone, the line drops constantly whether it's a phone call, video chat, or remote session. All the support appears to be operating from overseas with infrastructure that can't handle any real volume. You get nothing in terms of actual service.
Received a new laptop that's basically broken right out of the box. The hardware, BIOS, and drivers just don't play nice with each other at all. Machine is totally unusable in this condition. Tech support is pretty much worthless and won't help you figure anything out. Honestly, good luck reaching anyone who can actually assist you. Every time I get through, the call keeps dropping after just a few minutes whether it's phone, chat, or remote access. Entire support operation seems to be based overseas with zero infrastructure for handling calls properly. Complete lack of service.
Got my G5 system last week and right away noticed the wifi card installed wasn't the one I'd ordered. I spent a ton of time on the phone trying to get it fixed and went nowhere. They shuffled me through four separate departments. Just as I was about to give the fifth person my case details, the call dropped. Think they called back? Nope. At this point I'm considering just sending the whole thing back and asking for a refund.
Decent enough overall but nothing special. Getting help from their team takes forever and I bounced around between departments constantly. Their computers are pricey for what they are, though that's pretty standard in the prebuilt market. You could definitely do worse, but they're not going to go out of their way to help you.
Had a terrible time ordering a TV from them online. They shipped it out then randomly told the delivery company to send it back without explaining why or giving me a heads up. Figured maybe it was a mistake so I ordered again. This time they sat on the order for four days and then just canceled it with no explanation. Spent two weeks in limbo talking to about five different reps and none of them could tell me what was happening. Worse, they kept making it sound like everything was fine when it clearly wasn't. The staff was actually pretty hostile too while they were insisting the orders would go through. Skip this company entirely.
