What Shoppers Say About Do it Best
Do it Best is rated 1.0 out of 5 by 12 shoppers, with all reviews giving one star. Shoppers report serious issues across multiple areas: incorrect items received, poor return policies, and unresponsive customer service. One shopper ordered a heated jacket but received a different item and had to follow up repeatedly before getting assistance. Another received lawn equipment parts that did not function as needed and required two trips to resolve the issue. Additional complaints center on staff behavior, with reports of unprofessional interactions, yelling, and dismissive attitudes toward customers.
Beyond direct customer experiences, reviewers cite concerns about operational reliability and workplace culture. Some report that products frequently disappear from inventory without notice, while others mention inconsistent support for vendors and store owners. Internal workplace issues including high employee turnover, poor training, and low morale are cited as contributing factors to the negative customer experience. The consistent theme across reviews is that customers feel the company prioritizes deflecting criticism over addressing legitimate concerns.

Sorted by: Most recentTheir return policy is terrible and the people working here treat you poorly. The items I got looked nothing like the pictures on their site.
Had an awful encounter at a local Do it Best location about two years back. The staff member representing a major equipment brand gave me false information about a product I was buying. It caused me serious stress and frustration. He yelled at me outside and threw my item in my face, telling me to just deal with it. Super unprofessional and dishonest. When I called him out on the misinformation, he told me I wasn't welcome anymore, which was really embarrassing. The manufacturer eventually made things right by sending me a replacement, which I was grateful for. Neither the store nor Do it Best ever apologized or tried to fix things. I've warned lots of people about this experience and honestly can't trust any of their locations anymore. The behavior was completely unacceptable.
Ordered a heated jacket for $200 and they sent me a different item instead. When I contacted them about the mistake, all they did was brag about their customer satisfaction rating like I was making things up. I had to reach out like ten more times before anyone actually responded. When someone finally got back to me, they asked for pictures to verify I wasn't lying. After I sent proof, they admitted they shipped the wrong thing because they were out of stock on what I actually ordered. Who does that? If I wanted something else, I would have ordered it. The person handling my case was difficult to work with and made no effort to fix the problem. I'm done shopping here and would tell anyone else to skip it too.
Save yourself the trouble. I grabbed some lawn equipment parts and went to collect them, but what they sold me didn't work right and wasn't what I needed. Had to bring everything back and cancel the whole thing. These people are irresponsible, dishonest, and unreliable. I wasted gas making two trips for nothing.
I was warned by someone connected to the company that great products often only show up once before disappearing from their inventory. The word is that Do it Best has trouble following through on promises to both vendors and store owners. I even heard about a store from another group that reached out because Do it Best didn't deliver the support they said they would, which meant missing out on critical holiday shopping periods when they really needed that help.
The workplace culture at the local Do it Best is clearly broken. There's massive employee turnover, which makes sense when you look at the complaints from former staff. People are constantly insulting each other and being put down, training is basically non-existent, and morale is in the basement. When people leave that quickly, the company loses experienced workers and those left behind get burned out from doing extra work. The costs of constantly hiring and training new people just keeps climbing, but the toxic environment remains. Stories from workers about being disrespected and not getting proper training show why this place has such a hard time keeping anyone. It seems like people can't even ask questions without getting grief, which explains why some staff members don't know basic things about the products.
Really disappointed with the shipping carrier this company uses. I placed my order on a Saturday expecting delivery by early Monday, but here we are days later and still waiting. Their choice of shipper has made getting my stuff a complete hassle.
Your truck drivers need better manners. They park their rigs right in the middle of the road blocking traffic and show zero respect for anyone around them. I'm not even talking about actual delivery zones here, just stopping wherever at truck stops like they own the place.
Customer service here is basically non-existent and their shipping department doesn't seem to care about getting orders out. Definitely stay away from this place. Can't find a single positive review anywhere.
I accidentally bought from this site when I meant to go somewhere else, but decided to give it a try anyway. Days went by with no shipping update or tracking number, so I reached out through their chat. I explained I wanted to cancel since nothing had shipped yet. The rep said it was too late because tracking was already created. Moments later, she sends me the tracking info and an email comes through at practically the same time, which seemed really odd. I still asked her to cancel, but she refused and told me to just reject the package when it arrives and it would get sent back for a refund minus shipping fees. I turned down the delivery around mid-December and the warehouse didn't receive the return until the end of the month. I waited until early January and finally contacted them asking why I still hadn't gotten my money back since they had it for two weeks. Suddenly after I sent that message, I got a cancellation and refund notification. It feels like they had no intention of actually refunding me unless I kept pushing.
