What Shoppers Say About epicwaterfilters.com
Epic Water Filters receives deeply divided reviews, with 19 shoppers rating the store 1.9 out of 5. A significant portion of reviewers praise the filtration effectiveness of the products themselves, particularly for addressing serious water quality issues like PFOA and PFOS contamination, and note that bottles keep water cold effectively. However, the overwhelming majority of complaints center on severe operational failures: chronic stock-outs of replacement filters on both US and UK sites lasting months, inventory management failures where in-stock items are charged and then delayed indefinitely, refusal to ship between warehouses (US filters unavailable to UK customers), inconsistent filter designs that don't match original purchases, quality issues with replacement filters that degrade quickly, and unreasonably high shipping fees. Several shoppers describe the experience as a scam given the impossibility of obtaining replacement filters after purchase.
The most damaging pattern across reviews is the disconnect between product quality and customer service: shoppers who receive working filters initially find themselves unable to reorder replacements, leading to frustration that the purchase becomes unusable. Multiple reviewers note weeks-long delays with no communication, and customer service responsiveness appears inconsistent. For shoppers in the UK, geographic shipping restrictions compound the stock-out problem. While a minority of buyers report satisfaction with the core product, the logistical and inventory issues create a significant barrier to repeat purchases and ongoing use.

Sorted by: Most recentDisappointing Service Experience. Their inventory management is non existent. Even when items show as in stock they'll take payment, charge ridiculous shipping fees, then keep telling you the order is packaged and will go out soon but nothing happens for weeks. This would have been my third order with them. If I'd known how bad things would be I never would've ordered at all. I'm leaving this review here since it's the only place I could find to complain.
This Is A Scam. Why sell a filter bottle when you don't have replacement filters? They've had zero stock on both their UK and US sites for at least half a year. Even when I visited the States I couldn't find them in any stores. It's basically a scam. Also my bottle randomly leaks even though it looks sealed properly.
Filters Hard To Find. The bottle itself is fantastic at keeping water cold throughout the day, even sitting in a hot car by a window. The problem is actually getting replacement filters. The UK warehouse is out of stock with no timeline on when they'll have more. I can find them in the US warehouse but they won't ship to the UK.
Confusion About Filter Changes. This is a follow up to my earlier feedback. I'd bought through Amazon and returned what I thought were wrong filters to get the ones that matched my original NANO pitcher purchase with the black triangular design. The replacements came in and were still round and grey. Finally someone from EPIC responded to my emails explaining they redesigned the NANO filters to be round and grey now and they'd escalate the Amazon listing issue. It would've saved everyone headaches if EPIC had updated their website about the redesign and gotten Amazon to fix the listing. Amazon's product page still shows the old black triangle and says it's battery powered which is wrong. I'm using the round grey filters now but I'll probably send a water sample to my county for independent testing just to be sure they work right.
Excellent Protection For My Well Water. My well water tested at three times the legal limit for PFOA and PFOS so I bought the Epic Water Nano Gallon system right away. I'm genuinely thrilled with this purchase. For 24 years I was drinking well water with no idea I was ingesting dangerous forever chemicals at those levels. Tests from the health department were shocking and they gave me a One Drop pitcher but that didn't eliminate these chemicals. The Epic system reduces them by 98.9 percent and now I feel confident about my drinking water. Really glad I made this choice.
Replacement Filter Quality Is Bad. The replacement filter I got is poor quality. After 30 days it keeps slowing down. Now it takes almost 3 hours to filter just 700 milliliters of water. Complete waste of money and I wouldn't suggest buying this.
Unhelpful Support Team. My filters failed after just a few days, both at 3 and 5 days in. I've tried contacting them multiple times through email but they refuse to send replacements since I bought them through Amazon instead of their direct store. Since I'm in a less accessible area, I do most shopping online. They just don't care and won't help. I'm seriously considering switching to another brand.
Extremely Poor Service. Got the filter in 9 days which was fine but the pitcher and filter holder? Still waiting over a month later. Sent lots of emails asking about it. When I finally got a response they said they oversold and didn't really apologize. And they're still promoting this stuff all over Facebook. An email showed up last week saying it's supposedly shipped now. We'll see.
Great Support Team. The customer service here is fantastic. I've been using their products for three years and whenever something comes up they fix it. Stock moves fast these days which I figure is because more people are paying attention to water quality. I'm sticking with them.
Poor Support And Stock Problems. The support team is not great, filters have been unavailable for weeks, and their email responses come across as rude when they tell you to wait another five business days. Plus their website is clunky when you try to manage your subscription, and the prices are higher than comparable brands like ZeroWater. I've been buying from them for a few years but I'm done. Honestly, I don't think they'll make it much longer.
