What Shoppers Say About epicwaterfilters.com
Epic Water Filters receives deeply divided reviews, with 19 shoppers rating the store 1.9 out of 5. A significant portion of reviewers praise the filtration effectiveness of the products themselves, particularly for addressing serious water quality issues like PFOA and PFOS contamination, and note that bottles keep water cold effectively. However, the overwhelming majority of complaints center on severe operational failures: chronic stock-outs of replacement filters on both US and UK sites lasting months, inventory management failures where in-stock items are charged and then delayed indefinitely, refusal to ship between warehouses (US filters unavailable to UK customers), inconsistent filter designs that don't match original purchases, quality issues with replacement filters that degrade quickly, and unreasonably high shipping fees. Several shoppers describe the experience as a scam given the impossibility of obtaining replacement filters after purchase.
The most damaging pattern across reviews is the disconnect between product quality and customer service: shoppers who receive working filters initially find themselves unable to reorder replacements, leading to frustration that the purchase becomes unusable. Multiple reviewers note weeks-long delays with no communication, and customer service responsiveness appears inconsistent. For shoppers in the UK, geographic shipping restrictions compound the stock-out problem. While a minority of buyers report satisfaction with the core product, the logistical and inventory issues create a significant barrier to repeat purchases and ongoing use.

Sorted by: Most recentFilters Fail Way Too Fast. Sure, Epic sends replacement filters pretty easily when they fail, but that's not really the point. The Pure Epic filter is supposed to last for 150 gallons but mine dies in under 10 days with maybe 20 gallons of water. The filtering process takes forever like two hours or more. For a working filter it should take 20 minutes max. I track our water usage and after changing filters three times in less than two months I started keeping records. Our water quality is actually good based on the report we got. We picked this brand because it does more than Brita. At this rate we'd expect dirt coming out of the tap. I'm looking into a reverse osmosis system instead. Seems like they might even be hiding negative reviews because I'm not seeing many complaints anywhere.
Can't Get Filters After Months Of Waiting. We purchased the under sink Smart Shield filter years ago to deal with lead in our tap water. The first replacement filter worked fine but now they've been out of stock for a long time and we're stuck. Water pressure in the kitchen sink is terrible but we have no new filter to install. Customer service promised the filters would be back by late July but it's already August and still nothing. We might have to buy a completely new system since we definitely need to filter the lead. This whole situation is really frustrating.
Defective Product And Awful Support. This product is bad and their support is even worse. Our Epic Water pitcher worked well for the first couple weeks but then the flow got incredibly slow making it take all night just to filter a small amount. I couldn't reach anyone by phone so I emailed asking for a replacement filter. They got back saying we probably have water with high turbidity and they would look into it. Our municipality tests water every year and reported very low turbidity numbers.
Not Worth It In My Area. Skip this brand. Epic Water needs to let customers know that their filters don't perform well in certain Australian regions like Melbourne where there's a lot of sediment in the water supply. They never mention this anywhere.
Positive Support Experience. I had a good experience with their customer service team even though my delivery took longer than expected. When my order hadn't arrived after four weeks I contacted Epic and they were quick to respond and offered a good solution. Based on what I've seen from other customers and my own situation, UK orders do take a while to get there, probably four to six weeks coming from the US, but the quality is solid.
Total Waste Of Money. The outdoor bottle filters at 750ml are completely useless. I dropped over 100 bucks on one and feel totally ripped off.
Decent Filters But Poor Replacement Program. The water filters work well and I'm satisfied with the product quality itself. However the replacement filter program is disappointing. A filter order I placed got refunded because it never shipped after waiting almost three months.
Terrible Customer Support. The product is okay but the support is absolutely terrible. They took my money and completely refused to refund an order that sat unfulfilled for a month claiming it's already packed and they can't cancel packed items. Then they shut down my subscription without asking instead of actually fixing the package that's been delayed over six weeks.
Company Quality Has Really Declined. This place used to be great, but the experience has completely fallen apart. Their website is loaded with products listed as available when they're actually out of stock. The worst part? Can't get replacement filters for my pitcher, which makes the whole thing pointless. They're not posting anything about inventory problems on their social media or website, they're ignoring customer emails, yet they keep charging subscription fees like nothing's wrong. Just be upfront about what's going on. Looking at recent feedback here, their reputation is in the gutter. I cancelled my subscription and moving to a different brand. That's rough because I genuinely loved how clean the water tasted compared to other options.
