What Shoppers Say About GenTux
GenTux is rated 1.2 out of 5 by 18 shoppers, with the vast majority reporting serious problems with the rental experience. Recurring complaints center on wrong sizes being delivered, items failing to arrive, unexplained charges for allegedly unreturned clothing (often $50 to $200 per item), and unresponsive customer service that ignores customer measurements and takes weeks to resolve issues. Shoppers report having to contact the company multiple times via email to get replacements, sometimes arriving just days before their events. The few positive reviews praise quick delivery and good fit when orders arrive correctly, but these represent a small fraction of feedback.
The core issues appear systemic: sizing errors, incomplete shipments, billing disputes over returns that customers claim were actually sent back, and a return process that some shoppers find burdensome (particularly around honeymoon timing). Multiple reviewers describe being charged twice or charged amounts that seem arbitrary. One shopper noted that out of ten people in their wedding party, only one person's suit fit properly.

Sorted by: Most recentWe got three suits for my daughter's big day. Two weeks after, I got hit with a $200 charge for supposedly not returning my son's pants. Trust me, we sent them back. Four other wedding guests got similar claims about missing items. It's been a total service nightmare. Still waiting to get that $200 back in my account. Just avoid this place.
Don't waste your time with this company! Absolutely horrible customer support, incredibly slow to ship, and just an overall disaster. Plus they squeeze extra money out of wedding guests to pay for things. Genuinely terrible place to do business.
Our wedding was in June and we got all our rented tuxedos back on schedule. Then in November, completely out of the blue, they charged my credit card $600 claiming they never got part of one tux. That's not true at all! After calling them over 7 times, they finally said it was their mistake and promised to refund me. Months later, still no refund. Skip this rental company entirely.
They bill you $25 every single day after your wedding is over. We're already at $500 in charges. On top of everything else, the return label doesn't work and the box won't even fit in the UPS drop-off area.
Watch out, I had a terrible time with them too. Their website and customer service said we only ordered 6 tuxes when there was actually a "keep your tux" promotion for 7 rentals. We had 8 people in the wedding party who rented through my link. Before my wedding, they claimed they lost my credit card info, so I decided to just rent somewhere else. After the wedding, they told me they couldn't send me a tux to keep because they supposedly didn't have my card and claimed we only had 6 orders. Both of those things felt like they were messing with me on purpose. Their deals sound amazing but they'll find excuses to dodge what they promised. I'd steer clear. Generation Tux runs a shady operation.
The garments this company sent were absolute trash and I would've been mortified to own them if we hadn't needed them just for one event. The white shirt came with oil stains and a tear, the pants were disintegrating, and the return period they promised basically doesn't exist. These folks seem totally fine shipping damaged items and then charging you damage fees for sending you junk in the first place. They talk a big game but barely deliver. Zero out of ten and I'm telling everyone to stay away. Whatever convenience they claim to offer gets completely killed by the fact that the clothes are terrible quality and every single customer complains about how messed up their returns are. I wish I could give them negative stars.
Terrible company. I ended up spending more money renting a suit than it would've cost me to just buy one outright. The quality was garbage, the fabric was paper-thin, and nothing fit right. The ties were laughable. Every single person in the wedding party got suits that didn't fit and had to request replacements. When I told a rep that my pants nearly ripped putting them on, he just said okay and ordered me new ones without asking anything else, then hung up on me. They said we had two business days to ship stuff back after the wedding, but they started harassing me with emails after just twelve hours demanding the return or threatening fees right away. It gets worse though, if you keep it too long like four days, they'll slap you with a fee that's totally ridiculous, like a grand for a suit that's easily the worst I've ever owned. Nobody should rent from these guys, period. We looked okay in photos but the groomsmen were making fun of each other because pieces didn't fit because of how badly they messed up. What a complete disaster.
